Alerts and Jury Results on Discussionist
Most recently, I have been on two jurys today on Discussionist and am totally disgusted by what is being allowed to remain posted. It appears that bigotry, racism and misogyny are deemed acceptable on that board.

I'm seeing it more and more throughout the day... Seems as though most DUers and other moderate/Liberals/Dems are rapidly giving up on the site, which is sure to make it worse.
Not my site, not my decisions for sure, but I'm not sure this is what admins had in mind...
I note those bemoaning your even posting this thread, seem to be regulars on DI--though their posts there surely often seem incongruous to those made here. Even a casual observer can not fail to notice...

Maybe that is a really good thing. 
unlike DU where a Republican has to say he's a centrist Democrat.
You know, MFM use to advise me not to respond to you when you're harassing DUers. That's good advice, but if I followed it all the time, we'd miss out on clever remarks like this.

Discussionist is a general-interest discussion forum with a focus on current events. Unlike Democratic Underground, Discussionist is intended to be open to a wide range of different worldviews. It is not a safe-haven for a particular viewpoint, but we believe that the jury system will allow for robust, passionate discussions while maintaining a level of civility which is acceptable to the broad range of members.
I placed the group on ignore after that. And now I'm putting you there. Buh-bye. 
I have to agree.
There is just as much hatred and bigotry here as on DI.
But perhaps it's OK because it's hatred of, and bigotry toward, people we're not supposed to like anyway.
I dare anybody to tell me that hatred isn't behind some of the grave-dancing that goes on when a particularly obnoxious Republican dies.
And there's a general hatred toward them anyway. Which, hey...it's going to happen. But to see it happen here and then be told we're not seeing what we're seeing...hell no! DU is all rainbows and furry bunnies and cute little bluebirds.
We see men hating women. Women hating men.
Hatred toward Christians.
A particularly vicious hatred of cops.
Ageism.
Fat-ism (bigotry toward fat people anyone? yeah, it's here)
Plenty of hatred and bigotry to go around here at DU as well, and hatred is hatred, no matter who the target is.
I do see some news stories there that I might have missed elsewhere. Otherwise, the forums seem to move very slowly. It seems to have only a few really active posters.
It seems that I get called for jury duty there almost as soon as I log on (when I do). I agree, the "standards" for hiding posts seem much different from what would be allowed here. But then, they are not DU and have different norms or standards, or whatever.
As others have said, if you don't care for it, don't participate. Problem solved!
