The U.S. House of Representatives approved President Barack Obama's request to arm and train Syrian

CNN breaking news email:

"The U.S. House of Representatives approved President Barack Obama's request to arm and train Syrian rebels to fight ISIS.

The vote was 273-156, with significant opposition in both parties. A Senate vote on the proposal could come as early as Thursday."

I couldn't find it at Thomas.gov - I don't know if it's too soon or if I didn't search correctly. My understanding is that this funding for the Syrian rebels was inserted into the Continuing Resolution to keep the Federal Government going.

I'd really like to see the breakdown of the votes. I wrote to my Representative (Rick Nolan) on Monday, begging him to vote "No".

I just think this utter folly - I absolutely hate it!

trained and armed by Friends of Syria, and Friends of Libya.
Trained and armed by the good guys.

Perhaps it's just because I prefer the descriptive term 'rebel' to the more stark 'terrorist'.
"Moderate rebel" sounds so cool, whereas "terrorist" sounds awful.

I've come to love the "moderate rebels" of the USA's peace plan for the ME.
