Lots of flash flooding. I laid low and drank beer all day while we got about 2 and a half inches of rain. About .7 the day before and we'll get about .5 today. That's quite a bit for around here. No bad damage like Baja though, they got Odile when it was stronger.

You watch to see if you're in the cone of doom first. You stock up and then board up your house. Then it's beer from the cooler and board games by candlelight. Hopefully your house rides the storm well and is still standing when it's over.

maybe thats where the rain we're getting today in northeast ok is coming from. We need the rain so I'll take it but I hate to think its at the expense of the people there.

but I lived in Az from 1972-1984 and it wasn't uncommon to get hit with the tail end of hurricanes!! But , Jeez the amount of rain fall seems much more than in the past!

the past 2 days. Not sure if this is part of any tropical movement. September is always the worse for hurricanes/heavy rains in our area.

in SoCal. My husband had to stand inside one of the greenhouses and hold the posts (or whatever they're called) so it wouldn't collapse. Wouldn't want to lose our, ahem, tomato crop. Crazy insane winds. The bit of rain we did get was welcome, though it was still super hot. Poor Baja - had many a fun summer there back in the day.

It was the strongest hurricane to hit Baja since they kept records.
