Arrest reportedly made in 70,000-acre Calif. fire; announcement coming

Source: Sacramento Bee

A press conference is planned for Thursday morning to announce the cause of the King fire near Pollock Pines that has now burned 70,944 acres, a growth of 43,000 acres overnight.

In addition to Calfire officials, the 11:30 a.m. press conference will be attended by the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office and the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office. The presence of the top prosecutor and the sheriff hints at the possibility of criminal activity.

State and county officials, who asked not to be named because they were not authorized to speak publicly, said an arrest had been made.

Or preppers out of the unincorporated areas east of the state capitol.

Nothing against Yuba City or Marysville or Oroville, etc., but there is a contingent of nutjobs in every city in this state.

I'm impressed that officials are able to trace the inferno back to a single source or cause.
