Look at the contraband hit rate. The hit rate for whites compared to number of searches is 34.02 and the hit rate for blacks is 21.71. This shows that most of the time blacks are pulled over and harassed for no reason and have done nothing wrong. But it also shows that in this area whites have a higher crime rate and I would personally like to shove that in certain people's faces.


What would happen if they pulled white people over and searched them at the same rate as black people based on the population percentages? Because right now there are 2 times the amount of black people to white people and yet contraband is found in more white cars. (And I understand that this figure could be misleading since the police don't just routinely pull over whites. But that being said we still do not know what would happen if they were pulled over at the same rate as blacks based on the population so just according to the information we have now white crime would rise very high.)

If anyone can figure out the exact numbers white crime, (based on contraband only) would rise if they were pulled over at a rate of 1/2 the number of blacks, (since they represent 1/2 the population) I would love to see and and I'll post it on here and site you as the source.

6. Contraband. I once watched a YouTube video of a cop calling books contraband.

The lady was refusing a search of her vehicle. I cannot recall if they ended up getting a warrant or not, but they eventually searched her car and were referring to some of the books as "contraband". IIRC the lady had some really racist crap, but the whole thing freaked me out that books were a problem.

7. The trouble with statistics

They can be interpreted a lot of different ways.

For example, if they are "routinely" pulling over black drivers then it stands to reason that a lot of those people would be innocent of any infraction and do not have contraband in the car.

If the ONLY white drivers they are pulling over are those that are acting in such a suspicious manner that the police feel the need to pull them over (for example), then it stands to reason that a higher percentage of these drivers might be engaged in illegal activities and carrying contraband.

Start routinely pulling over white drivers for no good reason and the numbers might reach equilibrium.

The real issue is why police feel they have a right to pull people over for "driving while black".

They are likely stopping blacks for little or no reason, and pulling over whites who are in drug/prostitution neighborhoods with their new cars and none for little or no reason.

11. I think I noted that in my post. However at this point that is just speculation.

And your predictions could be completely false. According to the statistics if you pulled over whites as much as blacks they would have an extremely high crime rate.

After all plenty of people look at crime rates by themselves and come to the conclusion that blacks commit more crimes than whites. This may or may not be true. The truth is blacks are arrested, charged and found guilty of crime more often than blacks.

The same was probably true in Europe before WW2 with Jewish people.

Blacks are routinely stopped without probable cause. ..profiled by race and whites aren't stopped without probable cause as often. If they were stopped with the same frequency as blacks, the overall numbers of whites being arrested/convicted would be higher, the arrest ratio between black and white would stablize, but the arrest/conviction rate on stops would be necessarily lower.

African-Americans subsidize the city/county (whatever) with heavy fines while the rich escape with no taxes. So the poor pay more than they can afford then they can't afford to fix a tail light or change a tire and they are fined again and again. At some point the private prison complex cashes in as well. What a system!!
