A propaganda video hoping to recruit new fighters for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria warns about the dangers of gay teachers in 'infidel' schools. The terrorist group calling itself the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria has already made headlines for its acts of violence and indiscriminate murder, including publishing videos that claim to show the beheading of American and British journalists and aid workers.
So it comes as no surprise that the radical, militant group also believes gay people are a danger to the public, the "worst of all creatures," and on par with "pedophiles."
In a recruitment video first posted online in late March, a masked ISIS fighter tells Muslims that they should emigrate to ISIS-controlled regions in the Middle East to lend their various skills to the ISIS cause, lest their children attend school with gay teachers.
The video was posted to YouTube by the Middle East Media Research Center, reports the Washington Blade. That Washington, D.C.-based LGBT outlet rightly notes that the antigay name-calling in the ISIS video pales in comparison to "the brutality demonstrated by ISIS in other messages."

(18,184 posts)About 18 months ago I stumbled across a jihadi extremist supporters' group on Facebook. Their messages just repeat the same ideas over and over again. Most don't seem to have much knowledge of history or religion beyond a few canned slogans. There's no nuance or philosophy or spirituality. It's religion-lite based on social media memes.

Seriously, just like Teabaggers, ISIS find LGBT abominations, along with most women, many children, scientists, sane people, and Visigoths.
I hope you catch the Visigoths reference from my favorite movie.

Or, that's the act they perform and really they're just mobsters looking for power.

(29,047 posts)Sufis are interesting. I started a book about Sufis, and the author was describing a debate within the Sufi community as whether or not they are Muslims. I don't care what label they chose, but I thought just the fact that was a debate within the community was interesting. I need to finish that book.

(24,692 posts)The "Open Mosque" will accept people from all religions and sexual orientations
Women will also be allowed to lead prayers at Taj Hargey's "Open Mosque" in Cape Town.
"We are opening the mosque for open-minded people, not closed-minded people," Mr Hargey told the BBC. He says the mosque will help counter growing Islamic radicalism.
Mr Hargey, a professor at the Muslim Educational Centre of Oxford in the UK, told the BBC's Newsday programme it was time for a "religious revolution".
"In South Africa 20 years ago, there was a peaceful revolution changing from apartheid to democracy and we need to have a similar development in the area of religion," he said.

I don't think this mosque will be much of a recruiting center for ISIS.
