By a representative (player) of the organization you lead? In an elevator - an enclosed space with no exit save being dragged into a hallway and left by a member of your organization. And that goes for the rest of the NFL hierarchy, imo.
What was so hard about a timely, appropriate response?
His press conference boggled me in its misdirection. Just a one time vent on my part. I'm leaving follow up to the pundits, law enforcement and the various NFL groups with an obvious, direct interest in the situation.

(14,449 posts)He has way too much patience then I have. I would have got on the lecture and said, my job is to ensure the football teams are ready to go on game days. What they do on their own time is up to the local police. I ask police departments around the country what you are doing to bring justice to those who beat up woman? However, I would say that if one of my players does anything on NFL property, they are gone. Next question? Of course I would be fired, but why does the NFL have to worry about what their players do on their own time? No other profession has this amount of scrutiny. I don't even like football that much, but it just seems like the media is bashing African American men.

Nothing would hurt them more than to lose revenue by losing their fan base.
At the very least, fans should be demanding actions, but I fear they more often than not are defensive of the "sport" and too heavily invested in it.
I never got aggressive sports, never understood them at all. And rabid fans I really don't get.

(725 posts)While innocent people are being shredded by artillery rounds because of US foreign and economic policy, people are worried about the NFL and the soap operas that are the lives of their cash cows. Look over here!
