ISIS "We will conquer your Rome, break your crosses, and enslave your women"

"Crusaders, you have realized the threat of the Islamic State ... If you fight it, it becomes stronger and tougher. If you leave it alone, it grows and expands"

"As you walk on your streets, turning right and left, fearing the Muslims ... you will not feel secure, even in your bedrooms ... we will strike you in your homeland."

Muhammad Al Adanani, Spokesman for the 'Islamic State' 9/22.

(excerpt) Crusaders, you have realized the threat of the Islamic State, but you have not become aware of the cure, and you will not discover the cure because there is no cure. If you fight it, it becomes stronger and tougher. If you leave it alone, it grows and expands. If Obama has promised you with defeating the Islamic State, (then he has lied as) Bush has also lied before him ...

We will conquer your Rome, break your crosses, and enslave your women, by the permission of Allah, the Exalted. This is His promise to us... If we do not reach that time, then our children and grandchildren will reach it, and they will sell your sons as slaves at the slave market ...

(Crusaders) ... you will pay a great price. You will pay the price when your economies collapse. You will pay the price when your sons are sent to wage war against us and they return to you as disabled amputees, or inside coffins, or mentally ill. You will pay the price as you are afraid of travelling to any land. Rather you will pay the price as you walk on your streets, turning right and left, fearing the Muslims. You will not feel secure even in your bedrooms. You will pay the price when this crusade of yours collapses, and thereafter we will strike you in your homeland, and you will never be able to harm anyone afterwards. You will pay the price, and we have prepared for you what will pain you.

as an Al-Qaeda operation in 2004. They took the name A' Qaeda in Iraq. At that time, they were supported by Al-Qaeda central. No more, no less. The Iraq State of Iraq split from Al-Qaeda in 2007 after al-Zarqawi.

5. They are being bombed by the US
7. They have an ideology that justifies an (counter) attack.

So ... why do you think they do not mean it?

They have the money, motivation, man power and militancy to hit the US - and they have said - just said - they want to do it. What more could you want? Seriously? Put it another way: if a well funded, well armed, experienced militant operation said we are going to hit your homeland - and you/congress/the executive ignored it. Then there was a big hit. There would be hell to pay. Why? Because like Bin Laden determined to hit inside the US, it was a clear and present danger.

furthermore, do you really think it's that easy to hit the U.S., post-9/11?

but I suppose you know more than the experts both within and outside of government. Nor am I suggesting ignoring ISIS, but does it ever occur to you that what we're doing in response to ISIS may make everything worse? We have recent history to enable us to see that military intervention over the past 10+ years has been disastrous. The "unforeseeable consequences" aren't really so unforeseeable. Our military interventions in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya have been a cluster fuck. Why on earth would you think that this time we'll have different results?

implementing measures that should make it difficult for any kind of massive attack on the U.S.

we have plenty of reason to believe that military intervention will make things worse and more dangerous. Evidence in the form of the results of our military actions in the region. We have zero evidence leading us to believe that military intervention will make us safer.

have fun with your quivering fear and fear peddling.

The West ignored the violence in Iraq under Maliki until they didn't get their way in Syria.

So now, we are told we have to repeat what caused all this in the first place.

The British Empire has been meddling in the ME for eons, creating unnatural borders etc that any fool would have known could never work without installing Dictators. Which they did, of course.

I wonder who is influencing who here, the old, dying British Empire using the 'new world's' power to continue their failed policies, or the 'new world' using the old British Empire's 'experience' to build its own Empire which of course means grabbing the resources of every nation on earth?
