Rep. Michele Bachmann Credits Eagle Forum's Phyllis Schlafly With Ending The Cold War

Rep. Michele Bachmann recently sat down for an interview to discuss her undying admiration for the Eagle Forum's Phyllis Schlafly, whom Bachmann credited for ending the Cold War and for just generally being "the epitome of womanhood." Not only was Schlafly a political powerhouse, Bachmann said, but she was also "personally brilliant, physically gorgeous, and she's extremely articulate — you have a perfect package in an individual to be a fabulous face of the conservative movement.

"I believe that Phyllis Schlafly is the most consequential female woman in public policy in the last fifty years of the 20th Century," Bachmann declared. "Had there not been a Phyllis Schlafly, I believe that we wouldn't have seen a rise of the pro-family movement. Had there not been a rise of the pro-family movement, I don't believe that there would have been a Ronald Reagan. Without a President Ronald Reagan, I don't think we would have seen the ability to defeat the evil, and yes that's what it was, Soviet empire and to bring a conclusion to the Cold War. Just as Ronald Reagan was consequential, Phyllis Schlafly was extremely consequential because she was a tee up (to) this president that we had":

"Phyllis was willing to be everything feminists wish they were, decades before feminists figured out that they needed to be independent women in their own right," she said. "Phyllis was already there. And so rather than lifting Phyllis Schlafly as the tremendous role model that she has consistently been throughout the decades, she was slashed and slashed by the feminists when she was exactly the epitome of what they had hope to be."

No woman will ever surpass what Schlafly has accomplished, Bachmann declared, and "if the true story of America's greatness is written, there will be more than a chapter written on Phyllis Schlafly." "As far as I am concerned," she concluded, "Phyllis Schlafly truly is the epitome of womanhood and she is a woman that every young girl can pattern their life after and should choose to emulate."

Schlafly was no hero, no wise woman, no true beauty! And certainly no feminist.

Michele needs to learn about this little thing in life called FACTS! Oh yeah, facts are irrelevant when a person is as Orwellian as her, and Phyllis.

I wish her luck in that, but this is a weak attempt. She needs to take Marcus to a bar and start a brawl and punch out a reporter maybe to reach the Palin nuttery. Good effort though.

Wants little girls to grow up to be mothers and raise gay children. I'm fine with that.

so I guess I should not be too surprised someone like bachman is singing this tune today.

I don't think either of my daughters would choose to "emulate" someone like schafly .She is about as anti-women as they come.
