A command post is a HVT, it requires its own security element as well as an air component to fly the CG and his staff around. An air component requires its own security element as well. So looks like we are putting "boots on the ground"

about 100-500 more troops going to Iraq with the HQ. That's what she said.....

A HQ needs a security element, an air element, a logistics element, an ACE (Intelligence team, anywhere from 50-200 soldiers all by itself), and a Joint element(people from outside the HQ command staff from other services of the military. That 500 turns into 1000 or more very quickly
