I would rather get actual work done or comment on things that actually matter like congressional gridlock. But, hey if it keeps them from bothering lamp posts and mail boxes I guess it's alright.

Race is the underlying issue beneath everything, EVERYTHING, the GOP and teabagger nuts bitch about and criticize about Obama.

Let me repeat that. RACE IS ALWAYS THE ISSUE.

You can't say everything is racist. It cheapens the meaning and takes away from the real racism that so many have endured.

and run him/her into the ground.

But from day one, they have refused to cooperate with Obama on anything. The underlying factor for this is racism. Their dog whitles and racial messages have been going out since Obama took the oath of office and have never stopped.

Virtually everything the GOP/Teabagger pols aim at Obama plays to the bigotry of their racist base.

or firing the gun
or putting his feet up on the desk
or not wearing a jacket in the oval office

he gets criticized for doing what other presidents do
they never got the same criticism

I wonder what can be different about him

maybe we will never know

I complained along with many, many other DUers. So, when President Obama displayed a rather halfhearted salute, I didn`t like that either.

whether Obama salutes or not.

That saluting crap started with Reagan who thought he was playing some kind of role in a WWII movie. No president before him ever did the saluting stuff.

Had McCain or dole won, saluting would not have been possible. Maybe President Obama should go back to long tradition of not saluting.

I'm gone.
Yep, this an opus...from someone that has less that 20 postings, but has been here for quite a while.
Every criticism of President Obama is not about race, yet more than half of the participants on this forum attach it to every thing that he does.
I voted for him...twice.
I believe in him.
But he has made mistakes, mistakes that were I to attempt to discuss, would be ridiculed as racism on my part.
I think he was wrong to have saluted with a coffee cup in his hand.
Period.
He is under intense public scrutiny and there are many, many former soldiers, vets, active duty member, etc, that will see that as an inexcusable gaffe, especially knowing that the President has many, many advisers that teach him about the fine points of military custom and how things should be done in any setting.
Laugh at me if you will, come back with all your simpering, sardonic obscene comments.
I am done.
If I cannot express my dissatisfaction with my President with being called a racist, on a PROGRESSIVE forum, then there is no refuge.
Goodbye.

My OP refers to the motive underlying all GOP/Teabaggers criticisms of him.
