I would think twice about traveling to places like Morocco or Egypt, where there are lots of tourists for ISIS to choose from.

They already have such a good relationship with the international news media. As far as these acts as a recruitment tool every nation on earth has people this sort of act appeals to. Seldom has anyone ever desired to attract them all in one place.

PARIS -- A terrorism watchdog says Algerian extremists allied with the Islamic State group have killed a French hostage.

A group calling itself Jund al-Khilafah said after abducting Herve Gourdel on Sunday that he would be killed within 24 hours unless France ended its airstrikes against Islamic State fighters in Iraq. The French government has insisted it will not back down.

U.S. terrorism watchdog SITE Intelligence Group says Jund al-Khilafah released a video online Wednesday saying Gourdel has been killed.

Gourdel was a 55-year-old mountaineering guide from Nice.

What is going on makes me sick. I wish I had an answer or our dearly elected would for once work together and resolve these killings. I do believe if the world unites over this we can send ISIS back into wherever they came from.

The ME is a mess unfortunately we rely on them for oil so we need to get involved.

Almost half comes from the US itself. The rest from Canada, Mexico, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela.

Large multinational corporations rely on the oil and gas in that area for their profits They use the armed forces and intel agencies of the US to secure same

That assertion is often followed by some vague notion that the US military must be engaged there or Americans will freeze to death in their cars that won't start..or something

I was only pointing out the error

Large corporations depend on US forces to help them get their profits

Here it is at ABC News - are you suggesting that ABC News is lying? Or are you suggesting that this is a false flag operation?

or are you just unconcerned about the beheading of a civilian?

Three days after France joined the war against ISIS by carrying out airstrikes in Iraq, a French mountain guide in Algeria was kidnapped Sunday and his captors have threatened to behead him unless France halts its latest actions against the Islamic militants.

An Algerian splinter group of Al Qaeda called Jund al-Khilafah, or Soldiers of the Caliphate, released a video on social media showing Hervé Gourdel, a 55-year-old from Nice, flanked by masked men with assault rifles. The group has vowed to kill the Frenchman unless airstrikes against ISIS are stopped within 24 hours.

Gourdel, who went to Algeria last week to hike and explore caves, was captured by armed jihadists while driving through the mountainous central region of Tizi Ouzou. The kidnappers let two Algerian companions go, but kept Gourdel.

In a 42-minute audio statement released Sunday, Islamic State spokesman al-Adnani urged followers to kill Europeans and Americans, and “especially the spiteful and filthy French.”
