One of Romney's "Mad Men" Is Trying to Convince America That "Republicans Have Feelings"

http://www.newrepublic.com/article/119563/romney-ad-man-vinny-minchillo-launches-republicans-are-people-too

I looked to see if this had already been posted somewhere. Did not find a post, sorry if it's a dupe.

"The blurb noted the launch of a website, RepublicansArePeopleToo.com, that aims to combat the partisan rancor directed at the GOP. In short: to humanize Republicans demonized by the left as women-hating, nature-destroying Fox News addicts. A 97-second video on the site informs viewers that Republicans do things that you may not associate with conservatives."

Soooo... they're people too... like... corporations...?

"Republicans Are People Too" - yes, venal, angry, stupid, narrow people, for the most part.

They are very human and fatally flawed. We know exactly what kind of people most of them are.

Getting us to demonize and dehumanize each other is one of the primary ways that the PTB keep us divided and unable to unite to fight back against what they are doing to ALL of us.

They want the Two Minutes Hate that is being fomented right here, right now, in this very thread.

The truth is that Republicans are propagandized against us just as we are propagandized against them, because the PTB want it to be more odious to you to ever stand next to a Republican on anything than to fight with them against the dismantling of our Constitution, the transformation of our government into a corporate siphon and surveillance state aimed at us, and a warmongering empire.

Every poll shows that Republicans are just as angry and upset about what is being done to this country as we are. They don't want to be impoverished. They don't want to lose our basic civil liberties. They don't want their children to be wage slaves to corporations, either.

We are not a country of half Democratic human beings and half Republican monsters. We are a nation of people being looted, exploited, and disenfranchised by an outrageously tiny group that is systematically merging corporatism with government to dismantle the remaining protections we have against their authoritarian rule. We don't have to agree on everything...just on this menace and the need to do something about it.

It could be a good thing if its purpose is sincere. Or it could be a cynical attempt to provoke the Two Minutes Hate, depending on how it is constructed.

I think it's important to look at what just the very mention of such a site evoked here immediately, though, to see how deeply and malignantly we are propagandized against the very concept of each other's humanity.

That ability to keep us divided is probably their most powerful tool against us, It keeps us attacking each other instead of the ones impoverishing us. And it keeps each side in turn circling the wagons and defending their party when it's in power, even though both corporate leaderships are merely taking turns implementing the corporate agenda.
