Living with a greatly devalued dollar would hardly be an improvement

The world economy is so intertwined that it would cause a massive inflation in this country. That would make our current situation seem like the good old days.

As for tariffs, our trading partners would retaliate with their own tariffs. Net result? Higher prices for everything and everyone that further stagnates the world economy. In any case, I don't see how that would incentivize businesses to move or keep their operations here.
