The apparent intent is to intimidate minority voters with the implied threat of lethal violence. These alleged poll watchers may need watching themselves. What could possibly go wrong if equally well armed minority poll watchers watch the watchers. Gets kinda Orwellian in short order with the odor of an Animal Farm. If the powers that exist in Wisconsin allow this form of threat to occur, either through inaction or deliberate support, the consequences, and blood, will be on their hands. Even the average republican in Wisconsin will not want to claim being a member of an organization that supports this form of intimidation. Claiming to be powerless to act in these circumstances will be seen as deliberate support by the Governors office. Walkers militia has plans to act in Wisconsin on Election Day, what will the public response be. More immediately and perhaps more importantly, what will the Governors response be?

Seriously though, in certain ways, even if I do not agree with their militaristic bent, I consider their role as important as a counter point.
Where, perhaps it may be needed in some form, as it provides focus and adds another element to the conversation.
I am of course still not completely decided upon this issue. At the moment, I consider it having more positives than negatives. That may change at a later date, but at the moment, that is where I am at.
On Edit. I saw an OP with a similar subject, and there was someone who mentioned:

Where, I mentioned that there should be individuals who show up with such signs near them.

(2,546 posts)You can find discussion on this at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal, the Capital Times, the Tom Hartman Show and I think Ed Schultz Show did a segment. The point is Scot Walker is in trouble in his reelection campaign and if he can't suppress minority voters in a significant way he very well may lose the election. He is neck and neck with his opponent Mary Burke and at this point that spells real trouble for him. It is my contention that this Walker Militia is a Koch brothers funded effort designed to ensure that no immoral and unethical tactic is left out of the contest here in Wisconsin. It should be clear that this state is the Koch brothers incubator and Alec test ground for all extremist right wing crap.
