Seems like the world just loves to pile on other folks when they stumble...
Everyone is mocking Apple over iPhone problems
Actually, if Apple isn't smart enough to poke a little fun at themselves following their string of stumbles, they just might end up looking like a defensive Bieber. Hope their highly-paid PR personnel understand as much and take a smart/clever stand in response to all the good natured ribbing out there.
Defensive never works. At least Bieber knows as much, and can poetically laugh it off when crowds boo and jeer him.

(53,737 posts)I'm talking about the products iOS Maps, iOS 8 fails, iCloud security breeches, bendy phones.
Jobs would have had the flaws fixed before sending them out the door.
And btw, Apple stock was down 3% yesterday because of the bad product reports, and will probably keep going down if the mistakes continue.

(31,930 posts)Apple had goofs when Jobs was around. The "bendy" stuff is garbage -- just people trying to prove they can destroy products. The Stock is reflective of the health of the company. Nobody invests in companies that are not going to make profits in the future.
BTW Apple is up 2% as I write this.

(53,737 posts)BTW, I'm an Apple user since the '90s so I have no ill will towards them, I just hope there aren't too many more serious goof ups like this back-to-back one.

(31,930 posts)I have nothing against the products but I have always had/have a 'dumb phone' and grew up using windows and still use it by habit. I do study the company and think it is a well run company both by Jobs (round II) and Tim Cook.

(550 posts)Honestly, is it possible to bend the phone? Sure, anyone with an interest in looking up information will find that a similarly small group of people had the same happen with the 5 and 5s, it just didn't gain traction then. They were probably too busy with "scuff gate" at that point, discovering the shocking truth that black anodised aluminium can visibly scuff if you...scuff it.
What you'll have is a few cases of defective phones - inevitable when you're shipping in small numbers, let alone the millions Apple got onto the market last week - a few cases of people getting careless and keeping the phone in their pocket when it's practically burying itself in their thigh and a few jackasses who want hits on YouTube.
It says a lot about the mainstream media that it picked this up with such breathless excitement. The botched software update was a significantly bigger deal even though that was fixed the next day.
