ERIC BOLLING: Would that be considered "boobs on the ground" or no?
(audience groans and boos)
First of all, forget the rampant sexism in that statement. Second of all, she's a pilot, so whatever gender-specific equipment she might be carrying, it's in the fucking air! (audience laughter) And thirdly, what was the quote that someone said earlier in your program? "These people are putting their lives on the line for us. Show respect."
So fuck you and all your false patriotism. (massive audience cheering and applause)
When Bush took us to war, any criticism was shouted down as treasonous. But a President you don't like has the country poised on the same precipice? No transgression, no matter how immaterial and ridiculous, is too small to cite as evidence that this President isn't as American as you are.

This war is about making money for the military industrial complex.
Jon Stewart talks alot about the GOP denying global warming, I think Democrats are denying what war does to global warming
Worried about Global Warming? The war each year emits more than 60% of all countries on the planet

(11,804 posts)Regardless of why we are in this war, the soldiers themselves are in harms way because we put them there. So while yes, Stewart was quoting Fox, even if he hadn't been I don't think it would have been a wrong statement.

(26,060 posts)This had nothing to do with going to war, it was about how there is nothing too small, petty or pickyune for the cons to whine about. The "latte salute" nonsense.

(16,296 posts)You missed the point - Stewart was commenting on the Fox commentators "joke". Your post seems vindictive and petty. No one here on DU, IMHO, denies the influence of the Military/Industrial complex, but you seem to be trying awfully hard to twist Democrats , war mongering and global warming into a Jon Stewart torturous screed.

(20,833 posts)I mean seriously you didn't even bother to try to understand the point and instead made a non-sequitur political posturing of a position against which no one is arguing against. This clip is not really about the war or global warming. It instead had to do with cheap outrage for the sake of political posturing rather than actual news coverage, debate or concern by the media. Which you demonstrated beautifully. Thank you.
