Oldest Arctic Sea Ice is Disappearing
This page is from a NASA site called "The Earth Observatory"
Might change a few minds, if seen. (Maybe) It is a simple way to see the difference. "A new study by NASA scientist Joey Comiso has found that the oldest and thickest Arctic sea ice is disappearing at a faster rate than the younger and thinner ice at the edges of the ice cap. The rapid disappearance of older ice makes the Arctic Ocean's sea ice cap more vulnerable to further decline." http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/IOTD/view.php?id=77270

1. I think of all the things that piss me off the most about gopers is their
unwillingness to say that climate change is real....
all because of assholes like the Koch Bros funding their campaigns. And then they turn around and try and bring religion into politics. If they really believed in God, you would think they would take care of the earth he gave us. It just pisses me off to no end - and breaks my heart when I see pictures like this. How dare them. |

4. initially they denied it all, then when confronted with facts like this...
they just say its a natural cycle... then when it finally becomes obvious is man-made they will say its too late to do anything about it. They have an "argument" for every scenario. They will pay some day for their obstinence and ignorance... unfortuantely we will all have to pay along with them.

5. Exactly! Except you forgot one ...
"Too late to do anything about it," followed by: God wouldn't let anything bad happen
to the earth. Full fucking circle. Self-prophesying assholes, each and every one of them. |

6. It's always that, isn't it?
They will pay some day for their obstinence and ignorance... unfortunately we will all have to pay along with them.

8. The one comment I kept hearing from the goper in my life is that it's caused by sun spots.
I *think* I heard that same comment from Inhofe.

11. Arctic ice extends for fourth consecutive year.
Reversing the trend downward since 1979.
highest since 2008 and one of the highest March extents in the past decade. http://nsidc.org/arcticseaicenews/ I would guess the last 10,000 years it has fluctuated. 'Short term' - anything within 100 years - you can draw anything you want out of results. |

13. The north pole as been ice-covered for 3 million years.
Now it's almost all gone in the summer like it likely was before 3 million years ago.
