Dumbfuck, sure. I wouldn't quibble with "asshole," "coprocephalic," or a number of other equally appropriate terms.

But why did you have to drag Neander Valley (i.e. Neandertal) into it? I happen to be about 2% Neandertaler myself. My ancestors were decent, gentle folk, and do not deserve the calumny of being compared to this wretched example of Homo Patheticus.

we found hubby from Africa.... and oh, what that caused in his family.

I think mine is European. which would suggest the Neanderthal, which is even more fun, cause they were a lot more than we made them out to be. which is why my family takes the kidding with a smile, cause we already know that.

I think these tests need to be dependent on what your risk factor is. If you have a history of cancer, or if it runs in your family, by all means, get tested regularly. But if you don't, and if you manage things, these schedules should be negotiable.

I read a story about a month ago in the Chicago Tribune (wish I had saved it) that some doctors are even considering Pap tests unnecessary anymore (again, I think it depends) because of their nature, and the fact that they can be unduly upsetting to some women who have a history of abuse, etc. I can kind of relate to that.

My GYN is steadfast on the yearly mammos.

If Medicare is getting bills from gynecologists for women over 70, then women over 70 probably need gynecological examinations. You'd think that logic would not be beyond the guy.

Face it. He is probably impotent, doesn't know what to do about it, and that is why he is sitting bored stiff (at least one thing about him is stiff) and grouchy.

I have an obscene message for him which I will not share on DU.

I'm 71. OK. This man is a menace to society.

Seriously. Whether a woman over 70 needs gynecological care or not is between her and her doctor. If she doesn't need it, Medicare will not be billed for it, so it is a non-issue. If she does need it, Medicare should pay for it. After all, she paid into Medicare all her working life.

I wish that these members of Congress would stop thinking about women's vaginas and investigate the pharmaceuticals and health insurance companies for overcharging.

Growing older is inevitable. Growing up is a choice.

Says Pink-o who's 2 months away from the Big 60. And yes, I'm still relevant, sexy and need health care--Newsflash, idiot troglodytes.

The problem with the House is there are districts in this country where people are so totally uneducated, they vote for these idiots and send them to DC. This particular Nimrod is an ignorant sexist and ageist: he obviously thinks that after 50 we're all dried up hags who should be thrown on the scrap heap!

Anything to diminish Female Power that scares little men like him, eh?

Republicans are particularly afflicted with the diarrhea of the mouth syndrome known as "mansplaining". That they are allowed to dictate to women what/if healthcare they will or will not receive based on ignorant male ASSumptions is testimony to the fact that women in the United States DO NOT have equal rights -- or even full human rights.

This so-called man is a despicable bastard.

For starters, he probably doesn't understand the difference between obstetrics and gynecology. A woman over 50 probably won't need obstetrical services, but even if the baby-making parts aren't being used any more they don't just disappear. Hence the ongoing need for gynecological services. Does this dumb fuck have a wife? If so, does she ever avail herself of such services? And if she does, I hope she enlightens him. Damn, there are some dumb people out there, and it's a sorry state of affairs that so many of them are in Congress.

I know you said, "probably," and I'm not disagreeing with you, but there are still a fair amount of women over 50 who still have their menstrual cycles and need obstetrical services (although, yes, most women who are still in their "child-bearing" years either don't want a baby at that age or consider it too risky too attempt, so in that, they may need some, ahem, "abortive" services.).

The fact remains is that this "representative" doesn't know jack squat about women. It's amazing to me that any woman outside of the 1 percent ever even considers voting Republican. Sigh.

It 's been said that we get the government we deserve. These people really are a special kind of stupid (and I hope someone pointed this out to him in that hearing), but if his constituents continue to vote for him, then they are, too. It's just a damn shame that these idiots have been able to get so good at manipulating the system, just a handful can screw things up for all of us.

The Democratic candidate in the race is Tom Brungardt
https://www.facebook.com/TomBrungardtforHouse

From the Ballotpedia page on the district:

2014

Elections for the office of Kansas House of Representatives will take place in 2014. A primary election was held on August 5, 2014, and a general election will take place on November 4, 2014. The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 2, 2014. Tom Brungardt was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Allan Rothlisberg was defeated by Lonnie Clark in the Republican primary. Rothlisberg faces Brungardt in the general election.[2][3]

Rothlisberg won election in the 2012 election for Kansas House of Representatives District 65. He ran unopposed in the August 7 Republican primary and defeated Melody Saxton (D) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[4]
