Yous all are so predictable sometimes.

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by cbayer (a host of the General Discussion forum).

I've read so many threads slamming the DSCC and how you're tired of their urgent fundraising e-mails begging for money and how you won't waste one cent on 'em until they actually support what you believe. Then, when the DSCC, with limited resources, has to make the tough decisions on where to play in the final weeks of the campaign, you pounce and complain.

I mean, you can't make this shit up.

You're angry at the DSCC and won't give 'em money to support Democrats because, gosh, the party has tilted too far to the right, and those begging e-mails are so fucking annoying, but when, lacking resources, they have to pick and choose which races to play in during the final stretch, you're all the sudden angry?

What do you think happens when you don't give money?

I mean, really, this is exactly what so many of you wanted! You wanted the resources to dry up to teach 'em a lesson. This is the lesson.

So, stop acting so surprised the DSCC, lacking funding, is pulling some of its resources from Kentucky.

Remember, many of you weren't going to give 'em a dime. This is what happens when you don't give 'em a dime.

You certainly knew this, right?

Stupid decisions, not so much.

They are continuing to do the opposite of Dr. Dean's 50-state strategy, which was the only time we won back both houses of Congress in - what - 20+ years?

The Third Way velociraptors running the thing probably think of it as austerity against non-preferred candidates, and austerity gets that crowd all hot and bothered.

As to the begging emails... asking for money is fine. The way they're doing it now is unbelievably annoying, in both quantity and quality.

that does not reveal their begging underneath. It is automation gone bat shit crazy.

As far as "unsubscribing" Everyday I dutifully went to each and every goddamn website to unsubscribe - taking more time.

I doesn't work. It's a joke. They just come in from other sources.

These are computer programs wasting unknown manhours of peoples time.

It's more than just annoying it is abuse of the email system.

What pisses me off is you can make a contribution or send an email in an off year and you don't hear shit.

Then, after over a year, suddenly you are getting 10, then 20, then 50 , then 80 a day. All because of the fine print that says they will share your email with 3rd party.

Once that is done it is like a virus, your email addr spreads, exponentially.

They have effectively figured out how to defeat common spam filters as well by using fake subject lines like "hey, Jim just wanted to let you know what I'm up to...

The further right we move the more I dislike our party, why would I send money to support republicon light? There is a lesson here and that lesson is stand on principle stop running from progressive values, embrace them.

They should be winning on the merits of the case but they are so weak at making the case. They should be talking like populists and instead they talk like old style republicans. They should be wining on the existence of Obamacare alone and instead they run and hide from it. That's incompetent behavior for a politician.

Rove knows you always energize the base but the Democratic leaders seem to hate the base as interfering with their right drifting tendencies.

If enough people are complaining about it, it's a problem. Overly aggressive fundraising is a problem, it annoys people, and past a certain point it is counter-productive.

When Terry McAuliffe was head of the DNC, his irritatingly aggressive fundraising in '96 was legendary. I made the mistake of offhandedly giving the DNC a work number when I donated (you know, where they ask for "work number&quot , Terry McAulliffe practically got me fired because the DNC wouldn't stop calling, over and over.

But I was clear after the Barbara Buono campaign - a nearly flawless progressive with a strong record of liberal legislation in NJ being abandoned by the national leadership last year - that I was driving my money directly to the candidates in NJ.

It's too bad about Grimes - but I have Booker and Kovach to send to DC. So my money went directly to them. I didn't even open my wallet for Grayson - which traditionally I've done because he is so pugnacious.
