I think Warren can still climb over Brown in the Massachusetts senate race but still think she'll have a tough time doing it though. KKKarl Rove and the batshit crazy right wing radio in the state(yes, conservative radio in fucking MASSACHUSETTS) are trying to portrait Warren as a out of touch elitist carpetbagger from Oklahoma. My relatives that live their keep bragging about how Scott Brown is the balls, how he for the common people, how much he loves the Boston sport teams, and most importantly how Warren is another tax and spend socialist liberal that the "Dumbocrats" as one of my relatives calls adore. One of my relatives just reads sport news and that pretty much it for him when it comes to news but likes that Scott Brown is a "common man". I kept telling him that Warren is the champion for working families but he keeps doing the same old "welfare queen" trick. He keep the discussion on saying how Warren hates the white working class and pardons to the illegal immigrants and lazy people. This made me calling him a xenophobic and racist during our discussion but he just hang up his phone while we were texting.
For Massachusetts folks, what ways could we get those 20% or whatever the fuck it is Democratic approval ratings of Scott Brown to drop down. How do we get indies to vote for our ticket come November?

(115,286 posts)I would suggest they keep reminding the voters that Brown is a Republican and to not be deceived by his occasional sop to the left. When the rubber meets the road, he will vote with his Republican comrades. It is better to have a real Democrat than one that acts like one just to get votes from unsuspecting victims...

(37,573 posts)Obama won the state by 61.8% to 35.99%. Get him and Biden to campaign there for Warren. It is illogical that Obama should win by 26% and still have a Republican re-elected to the Senate.

(37,305 posts)It's amazing how everyone thinks people like themselves are targets of malice.
The entire country thinks there is a war against them, holding them back and trying to bring misery. It's no wonder we aren't doing well.

But the tax cuts, welfare reform, minority fearing, tough on crime, and liberal hating are the issues he's most passionate about. He better what happens to his union if a Republican governor gets voted in by the people.

(4,017 posts)Brown may be the only likable GOPer (male) in the country.
We are not talking Inhofe, DeMint, Kyl, Sessions, Shelby or one the real assholes that have crowded nearly everyone decent out of the GOP.

(4,017 posts)Scott Brown = GOP and Warren cannot run against Brown personally. It will backfire on her.
Brown voted for HER CPFB bill - this is one tough race. And to make it worse MA has Obamacare no matter who wins.

(11,101 posts)it doesn't sound like their votes were ever in play. I'm not sure their take on the candidates is all that insightful as it relates to undecideds.

(85 posts)To explain more details about my relatives from Massachusetts.
First relative: 68 years old, white male, listen to Rush and his thugs everyday while he's in car, supports Romney but wanted Sarah Palin to run for president, detests MA Democrats such as Jim McGovern, Barney Frank, Deval Patrick, and others but he always hate the thought of having Ted Kennedy as senator for all his life there before Edward death in 2009. Right wing on everything but weed.
Second relative: 48 year old women, moderate as she's pro choice and pro gay marriage but she'll sound like typical rethug on issues such as immigration and welfare. Her favorite president is Bill Clinton. Planning to vote for Brown this election. Supporting Obama for president since she always dissprove of Mitt Romney.

(5,989 posts)So far, her war chest has been filled predominantly from out of state donations. While Elizabeth Warren needs all the cash she can get, it will not help her if she is seen as being mainly supported by outside forces, because we Bay Staters want to be able to trust that she has the interests of Massachusetts at heart first and foremost.
Talk of Elizabeth Warren for President in '16 is not helpful, either.

(85 posts)Die hard Republican that would never in his lifetime voted Democratic besides in 1990 gubernational against weld. Hates taxes, hates the Kennedy's, wants illegals deported, beated up Neo hippies at a Willie Nelson concert, think being homosexual is a sin, wants to go war with Iran, and his like my first relative only more partisan.
Four relative I mention in my first post. No need to explore his apolitical world.

(85 posts)Have some popular athlete from the Boston area to camping with her. As cool as Hollywood support for this great women, the right wing will keep smearing it as Warren not caring about local folks. I know couple of athletes in the area like Schilling and Thomas have been admitted freepers but what about some liberal athletes? Are there any Boston athletes that hold progressive/liberal views that could boost her support among the working class.

(85 posts)One or two Warren stickers but most of the people I was talking to were enthusiastic about her. But this was Cambridge and not central Mass, which is where my relatives live and voted for Brown big time in 2010 special election.
For the reminder, I live in Portland Maine btw.
