it's fun to try applying for government contracting positions that require clearance, just to hear some recruiter say no you can't, those positions are for American citizens only.

Many of these companies hire so many H1B visa workers they don't realize Indian-Americans exist, let alone active security clearance holders. They automatically put your resume in for low paying tech support short term temp positions far away from where you live without even looking at your degrees, certifications, or experience, or where you live. Yes, it is frustrating. People must think my accent is fake, must have learned English on the boat coming over here or something.
