It has killed thousands in Africa, and has arrived on our shores.

Although I think the threat is low for Ebola to become a serious threat in the US, I have no issue with him talking about it.

Ebola is on most people's minds to some degree right now. The President needs to address that issue. You're criticizing the President for speaking about an issue that is on people's minds? Realy?

and a lot of people are scared of Ebola, despite the extremely long odds of catching it. The President's role is to communicate with the public in cases like this. I'm not sure why this is even an issue for the original poster. It's very puzzling.

talking nonsense. It's not a really common expression, and it's seriously misused by this poster in his/her OP.

The semi-pro woodwind quintet I used to play with had 10 Joplin rags in our play list. They were a hit at wedding receptions, along with "When I'm 64" and a few choice Gershwin pieces. All of the quintet's members did arrangements for the group outside of the normal wind quintet literature. Joplin was easy to arrange for that ensemble.

Dear jury. I am not calling the op a racist troll. I am agreeing that the use of the phrase "ragtime" was, deliberate or not, racist nonsense. I am attacking the message, not the messenger.

He calmly spoke the truth and aided the extreme fear mongers in making a laughingstock of themselves.
He projected certainty to give undecided voters a clearer choice on who was better able to handle crisis's.
He lead at a point leadership was called for.

How in the hell was that not obvious?

What topic could he address that would help Democratic candidates across the nation ... of all stripes, for all offices, in red, blue, and purple states?

(Hint: don't say something that is simply your pet topic but that the majority of Americans don't buy into or agree with or care about).
