Oct. 29 (Bloomberg) -- Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lashed out at an attack on his character by a top member of the Obama administration, saying hell defend Israels security against anonymous sources who dont share the countrys concerns.
Netanyahu was responding to an article in The Atlantic magazine by columnist Jeffrey Goldberg, who cited an unidentified senior U.S. official calling Netanyahu a chickensh-t whos afraid to reach an accommodation with the Palestinians or Sunni Arab states. The piece was published today amid a deepening feud with the U.S. over Israeli construction in contested east Jerusalem.
I risked my life for my country, and I am not willing to make concessions that will endanger our country, Netanyahu, a former commando, said at a memorial ceremony in parliament for a cabinet minister assassinated by a Palestinian.
Our paramount interests, first and foremost security and the unity of Jerusalem, are not of vital importance to those same anonymous sources who attack us and me, personally, he said. I am being attacked personally only because I am defending the state of Israel.
Frictions between the two administrations deepened this week over Israeli plans to speed up construction of about 1,000 homes in Jewish areas of east Jerusalem, the sector of the holy city the Palestinians claim for a future capital. The U.S. State Department called the plan incompatible with the pursuit of peace.

(34,661 posts)Do you really think The -Military-Military-industrial-Complex will let Israel settle any type of agreement with the Palestinians. We all know what the bottom line is in the Mid East and it is the creation of a Palestinian State. Most of the conflicts would simply stop. The famous boogie man would go away and the Saudi's and other knuckleheads with more money than sense would not have any thing to hang their hat on. Bibi is a joke, but his wealthy U.S.business partners like the Willard, won't let this happen.

But not chickenshit, except to the extent he can see the path forward and is unwilling or too cowardly to take it. But that assumes quite a bit, and I don't have a very high estimate of Netanyahu's intelligence.

Notice that even Dick Durbin is rather high on the list.
One wonders how it is in the best interest of Illinoisans to support these organizations. What are they buying?
