This is the first federal election cycle since 2000 in which I have not filed a public interest lawsuit alleging criminal election law violations against Karl Rove and/or a Republican Secretary of State and/or the Chamber of Commerce. Criminal conduct by Karl Rove and his Republican Party minions and Chamber of Commerce collaborators is ongoing. However, at this juncture investigation for the gathering of further evidence for a federal RICO or Ohio Corrupt Practices Act conspiracy is what is appropriate. This year, as in the 2012 election, I have sent to the US DOJ and FBI information which the Columbus Free Press gathered in regard to the set up for potential fraudulent manipulation of the Ohio election.
I see Karl Roves corrupting handiwork at work in this election: 1) scandalizing Ohio Democratic Gubernatorial candidate Ed Fitzgerald for ordinary human foibles that cause no harm to anyone, like not renewing his regular drivers license, so as to destroy the public appeal of his outstanding reputation for fighting crime as an FBI Agent and as a Public Prosecutor, and 2) having Republican candidates refuse to debate Democratic candidates to avoid the potentially equalizing effect against commercial advertising propaganda funded by dark money. The corrupting effect of secret corporate money unleashed by Supreme Court Justices vetted by Karl Rove, made possible by Roves theft of the 2000 and 2004 Presidential elections, is a mortal threat to democracy and the rule of law in the United States.
I applaud the commitment of our President and his Attorney General to honest elections as reflected in this release from Carter Stewart, U. S. Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio and husband of Michelle Alexander, author of The New Jim Crow:
From Gongwer News Service, www.gongwer-oh.com, November 3, 2014.
"U.S. Attorney Appoints Election Officers To Monitor Ohio Races
Federal officials in Columbus, Cincinnati and Dayton will oversee Tuesday's election as part of the U.S. Department of Justice's nationwide Election Day program, U.S. Attorney Carter Stewart announced Monday.
The U.S. DOJ's Civil Rights Division is charged with announcing jurisdictions in which the department will conduct monitoring in the field at polling locations.
U.S. Attorneys offices around the country designate assistant U.S. attorneys to serve as district election officers, who are responsible for overseeing potential election crime issues and coordinating with DOJ election-crime experts, federal officials said.
Mr. Stewart's office announced the appointments of Gary Spartis to Columbus Branch chief; Anthony Springer to Cincinnati Branch chief and Laura Clemmens to Dayton Branch chief.
The district election officers will be responsible for overseeing the district's handling of election fraud and voting rights abuses complaints in consultation with the DOJ, Mr. Stewart's office said.
"It's our duty to ensure that all qualified voters have the opportunity to cast their ballots and have their votes counted free of discrimination, intimidation, or fraud in the election process," Mr. Stewart said in a release.
He added that "protecting the right to vote and combating election fraud are essential to maintaining the confidence of all Americans in our democratic system of government." Mr. Stewart encouraged individuals with information of supposed voter discrimination or fraud to contact the appropriate authorities.
In addition to the district officers, the Federal Bureau of Investigation will have special agents available in each field office throughout the country to address fraud and abuse allegations, officials said."

(305 posts)There are a number of books and lots of documentary movies focusing upon the 2004 Ohio election. And, because of the continuing cover-up of that theft, including though the assassination of Mike Connell, a key witness, there will be more.

(305 posts)I agree with your praise of John Conyers' work, described by Mark Crispin Miller as the most important Congressional publication ever.
However, Bobby Kennedy's 2006 article in Rolling Stone, aided by superb graphics by the editors was, in my opinion, the work that should have shaken the earth, or at least have awakened the American people. The failure of the main stream media to make everyone aware of that important work is an embarrassment and disgrace to our country. Here is the link to Common Dreams--Rolling Stone article wo the graphics: http://commondreams.org/views06/0601-34.htm

The entire pattern of corrupt activity can be brought into a racketeering investigation and suit. Thanks to CASE-Ohio led by Susan Truitt, there was lots of evidence of the theft of the 2004 Presidential election in Ohio.

(305 posts)I take it that you think I really believe we are going to shut down B613. With a lot of help from the 99% of the population who do not want their children and grandchildren to live their lives as indentured servants, I do believe that. But, we must act while we have a President in the White House who is on our side.

(19,841 posts)---what does this monitoring consist of?

(305 posts)The FBI cyber security unit consists of first rate professionals. Where voters complain of vote switching, as they are doing on this site, and that gets to the local FBI, they can secure the information necessary for the experts to determine if there is fraud going on. The field monitoring put into place by the Obama DOJ in 2012 and 2014 should assure that outright large scale vote shifting is detected and prosecuted. The monitoring announced by DOJ in both of these elections is good cause for hope in regard to vote count rigging.
However, the evisceration of our bipartisan campaign finance laws by the Supreme Court populated with folks vetted by Karl Rove for their corporate friendliness, made possible by Rove's earlier election theft activity, means that our elections are being corrupted by propaganda.

(305 posts)Always good to hear from you. I am looking forward to what our experts say about electronic red shifting of votes in this election. My impression was that the DOJ monitoring for that would have shut most of it down for this election.
Rove's strategy, it appeared to me, was a combination of: 1) dirty trick character assassination of Democratic candidates and President Obama by covert manipulation of the main stream media, 2) carpet bombing propaganda advertising defaming Democratic candidates and extolling the virtues of Republicans and 3) degrading and abandoning the tradition of civil debate between candidates in elections and thereby avoiding their potential equalizing/counter-balancing effect on the preponderate commercial ads of the Republican candidates. That is what did the trick in Ohio this cycle, as best I can tell at this point.
