(22,271 posts)and they will choose one of their own. Doesn't matter how many times they lose with the 6-state-strategy, by gawd they're going to stick with it until it works!
How many Congressional Districts went unopposed and who is responsible for recruiting candidates?

(3,450 posts)Since Howard Dean got kicked out, the party has been quite laid back in pushing its message let alone any liberal agenda. The Democratic Party sits back and gets run over and around all the time bu the rethugs and bare responds. I have always felt that they - the leadership and their agents (political gurus/advisers) - are purposefully doing this just to keep the marketing links to big corporations open and humming for the big bucks they always get paid when they decide to go back to private fortune making land.

(22,271 posts)you need to do an OP making the "follow the money" point. Members of BOTH parties may pay a little lip service in their opposition to Citizens United but the fact is that there's just too much money to be made by too many people to do anything about reform,

It was a sort of purge of the Third Wayers, wasn't it?

(22,271 posts)Jim Costa, CD-16 - Blue Dog Democrat, lost his seat tonight. My guess is that, instead of taking away that we need to go left, the Turd Way will decide that they need to go even more to the right.

Time for a new direction.

(17,651 posts)do what we say because ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS.
OK - economy, saved but for the common joe/jane - we're serving tables and praying we get tipped enough to feed our kids, pay our upside down mortgages and on and on.
The populist message always wins but just saying the words is meaningless, gotta mean what you say.
We used to stand up, now? Not so much.
No more watered down, lukewarm Democratic Party principles - our opponents do not water down jack!

(3,450 posts)I guess that it is not yet time for the dry gunpowder! It is so discouraging to hear them say that the Democratic Party has to be the grown up one. Why should the reThuglican party always be allowed to get away with all their dirty tricks and games? I say fight them with whatever is necessary to assure success - period!

(8,646 posts)Most people are remarkably astute. They can tell if someone means what they say and if they are trying to screw them. If they give someone a chance, and that person doesn't come through, people usually don't give that person another chance. Fool me once and all of that. It's not even if liberal legislations gets passed - it's about how hard you actually fought for it that counts. People can tell when you aren't really fighting for them. They aren't stupid, and the Democrats need to stop treating them like they are.

(2,546 posts)So What would you expect from Lil Debbie? Have the Dems had enough of the Corporatists themselves? Debbie needs to be replaced by A Legitimate DEMOCRAT who actually advocates and encourages populist policies and principles. IF there is no difference between candidates from so called opposing parties then there is no reason for Democrats to vote PERIOD!

They let the republicans (and the media) control the message that he has been a failure. The opposite is true! They should have been trumping his record on the economy, the deficit, jobs, the stock market, gas prices, and yes, HEALTHCARE!

Liberals pushed to the margins, without representation or influence, will continue to be blamed for the faults of the elite.

(57,936 posts)And Obama should pull his veto power out of his drawer and explain to the public in no uncertain terms why he is using it.
This is not the time for compromise. The Republicans refused to compromise with Democrats. The only way to get them to the table for honest compromise is to give them a taste of their own medicine. Democrats have to be strong and pull together in the Senate and House.,
