The voters don't have a clue that they voted for these things. But they did. It's called ignorance.

(45,274 posts)It really says it all.
The other day someone posted a cartoon showing a movie theater with a split marquee. There were 2 or 3 people standing & waiting to get in to "An Inconvenient Truth," and a line around the block waiting to get in to a show entitled "Comforting Lies" (description from memory & probably not exact). Anybody got the link?

(27,137 posts)...they're going to get anyway.
- Fast, down and dirty the Republican way. Or slow, deliberate with smoke and mirrors the Third-Way. They're still going to get it.
It's the system, stupid.

(9,214 posts)The repuke 1% and the batshit preachers have managed to buy/manufacture something that has never been seen heretofore in human history: a population that happily and enthusiastically votes, again and again, to liquidate itself. Not even Orwell could have predicted that.

(6,811 posts)craven opportunism + jingoistic zealotry is a very old combination. and no, religion is not the only location for this marriage in hell. it's well alive in secular circles and scribbled throughout history.
stare at the abyss longer, learn more. we're nowhere near in the worst of possible worlds... yet. there's always hope.

(39 posts)Well....
Billions of dollars worth of pounding on our President and
the Democrats in congress for years.
Corporate paid media.
That big 'herd of Americans' who don't really check things out and
understand how it affects them...
EVERY so many years try to give the Republicans
one more chance.
It's all theirs now. What are they going to do. They now
assume all of the blame.
President Obama already has one Hell of a legacy, if they'd print it.
And it will be, in history.
Grandpa said, " Oh look out, God's got his flashlight on them now".
A Simple Game
(9,214 posts)Is President Obama going somewhere? That's who they blamed for the last six years, why would they stop now?
I only see the blame Obama meme getting stronger, they have to divert attention from their actions somehow. How about some talk, if not action, on impeachment? That should be good for a few "pay no attention to what I'm doing, look over there" moments.

(25,274 posts)I clipped it out after the 1994 mid-terms and taped it onto my locker at work.
I retired 6 years ago, but went back to my office for a retirement party for an old friend.
I went into the locker room and found, much to my surprise, that the cartoon is still taped up on my old locker.
