You never really want to place admissions of criminal activity online, so I hope wherever you were when you tried them, it was legal for you to do so. Anonymity, or pseudonymity, online is dubious at best, and you should always assume LEO can find out who you are, where you are, and come and get you if you document illegal actions.

And one that brings back a lot of memories.

I tried them for the first time back in the early 90s (which was a fucking awesome time to be in your teens and 20s, by the way) and had some really great experiences not unlike what you had.

The one bad trip I had was on acid, which I did about 5 or 6 times. I was house sitting for my aunt and uncle who lived in a large home with two very large, but incredibly friendly, dobermans. Long story short we took the acid, popped Woodstock into the VCR (yes, this was before DVDs) and were entranced for 3 plus hours.

What I forgot was that the dogs hadn't been let out to potty in a while and they proceeded to turn the formal dining room, with white carpeting, into a toilet. As we scrubbed and scrubbed we saw maggots in the poop (which weren't there, of course) and a whole lot of other weird shit that I fortunately don't remember. What sight that must have been.

But the rest of the time I did shooms and acid were highly enjoyable times that I remember well and with much fondness.

Congrats on your experience.

One of the times I did acid I got to watch a tornado (from about 2-3 miles away). Perhaps not the best time to be in an altered state but it was striking, to say the least.

But alas, my only advice to you on this is all things in moderation. Many of my friends of that time went on to do acid and shrooms dozens, and in some cases, hundreds of times, and I think it altered their personalities in varying but not altogether positive ways.

But you sound like the type of person who will know when they've gotten enough enlightenment from the experience of psychedelics.

journey on acid that he took with his guru (may have been Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, but I'm not sure...it's been a long time since I read it). The guru sat there with a beatific smile on his face but showed absolutely no outward indication that he was tripping, as if it were a "normal" state for him. I'd love to know if their (i.e. yogis') brain scans would indicate the same brain reorganization.

Standing up and walking away also freaked me out. Walking was actually exceedingly difficult for a brief period of time.

I had a moment on a picnic bench with some girls from class who suddenly become the most intimidating creatures I've ever encountered.. from which I ran to find myself on the beach considering the timelessness of the rocks, and wondering how many other young people found themselves sitting there thinking about the same rocks and ruminating on our perpetual interconnectedness.

My friend, unfortunately, was equally freaked out and was of no help. Lol. He did steal my phone, though, preventing me from tossing it into the lake and ridding myself of the burdens of technology. That was lucky.

One time almost a decade ago, when I was still at UC Santa Cruz, a friend and I took an eighth each of some really potent ones, then smoked a fat blunt out in the woods. We wound up lying on a hillside as the sun was going down, and as the light between the trees disappeared, it was like the universe condensing to a point, and then blinking out of existence. One of the most intense trips I've ever had for sure.

William Leonard Pickard (born October 21, 1945 in Mill Valley, California) is one of two people convicted in the largest lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) manufacturing case in history. In 2000, while moving their LSD laboratory, Pickard and Clyde Apperson were pulled over while driving a Ryder rental truck and a follow car. The laboratory had been at a renovated Atlas-E missile silo near Wamego, Kansas but the two men had never actually produced LSD there. One of the men intricately involved in the case but not charged due to his cooperation, Gordon Todd Skinner, owned the property where the laboratory was located; he approached the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) about working for them. According to court testimony, they would produce a kilogram of LSD approximately every five weeks. The U.S. government contends that following their arrest there was a 90% drop in the availability of LSD worldwide.[1][2]

Smoothies are good too. We used to fill a blender with ice, a can of frozen fruit juice, some water(vodka also works but I'm not a drinker) and the shrooms.. If the shrooms are good no matter what flavor the juice is the concoction will always come out purple. We used to call it "Purple Stuff"... Happy Trails..

my sister and her family lived there at the time and she would send me tickets to come visit quite often (her and her husband had tons of frequent flyer miles from always travelling so they sent tickets). anyway there were quite a few shrooms in a tub but i forget how many. it is a tub like you would get french fries in at one of those hotdog kiosk stands in a park or outside a sporting event. these shrooms were plump and juicy compared to the ones i would see people do in the states which were always all dried out. you had a variety to pick from in the stores in Amsterdam from various countries like mexico or nepal, or wherever. i had very little experience doing them stateside. it seems like people only ate a few dried out and shriveled shrooms in the states compared to the amount i ate when in amsterdam. the highs were the most intense highs i ever had on a hallucinogen but i was always out in a dance club or wandering around the city which probably wasn't the right atmosphere for that intense a buzz. i ended up throwing a tub of them away before coming back to the states because i didn't want to leave them in my sisters refrigerator with my young niece and nephew around. nobody else around wanted to do them either. also the ecstasy , tho illegal there, was prevalent and supercheap, holy CRAP was it cheap compared to the states. i had local friends who knew people. anyway those were the days, now i rarely even smoke pot!! haha.

i forgot to mention that the peanut butter sandwiches worked for me because i was eating them in public while wandering. if one is sitting in the privacy of a home maybe there is a better food if one doesn't care for the taste.

Prescription meds keep me somewhat functional in this reality, but have annoying side effects. The numerous "self medications" I've tried (mostly when I was a young man) are hardly any better.

It used to irritate me greatly when people thought I was tripping-with-chemical-assistance when I wasn't, most especially when cops or medical people asked me what kind of drugs I'd taken. Nope, sorry, this is one of my ordinary off-my-meds realities. Yes, I know my feet are bleeding. I must have forgot my shoes. So?

The suckiest thing about my personal brand of mental illness is that when I drift off track the very first thing that flies out the window is my ability to judge my own mental state.

I don't tend to lose that when I partake of "recreational" mind-altering chemicals.

Thanks for sharing.

Once I was with my sister and a coworker of hers. They smoked some pot and I didn't. Then they went into the funny jokes and silliness and I was right there with them, like I had smoked pot too. I think I am always seeing things "as if on drugs".

Also I wondered, if you were going to go into engineering and then had the shrooms and wanted to help the planet, I wondered if that were similar to how men often close off their more intuitive side, but then the shrooms opened you up again.

I had tried my hand at painting for a long time, but finally realized I was not going to sell any of it. Later I had a dream that told me animal rights would be a good path for me. I listen very closely to my dreams. I felt it gave me a purpose too.

It is a mind opening experience. I understand the point of spirit journeys now, the smallness of the world and the connections that humans have to each other and the universe.

Different types of acid do it too in different ways. DOC is a humdinger and LSD is the best one to open your mind and kill your Ego and biases.

78. I've had a good few dozen 'schroom trips over the years, and about 10 on acid.

Most of these, not surprisingly, were when I was at college ('03-'07). Although I have had some good trips in the last 2-3 years, and I'm certainly open to it in the future.

and that's why the DEA has them on Schedule 1, they're dangerous to the PTB.

in 1969 and have loved psychedelics ever since. My favorite was always mescaline but you can't find it anymore. Every now and again I run across some 'shrooms but for some reason, my stomach can't take them now -- I get horribly nauseous for some reason. But if I could ever find some acid, I'd get it in a heartbeat.

87. AFAIK you can still purchase dried San Pedro cactus online. Though I wouldn't know where exactly.

San Pedro, in case you're not aware, is one of the two mescaline-containing types along with the peyote cactus.
