Can anyone help me with a question about the ACA?

i just had a friend call and she was frantic because her daughter was sick. The daughter is pregnant with her third child and had the first two by c section. Her daughter was told they had to wait an extra two weeks past went the last two babies were delivered thanks to Obama care.. I dd not know what to say.. I usually can come back with an answer but was not sure about this. Everything gets blamed on the ACA.. We live n NC by the way.. Does anyone know if there is a strict rule on when someone can have the C section?

Obviously this isn't true, not even remotely.

Tell her to tell the daughter to try and appeal. If the doctor wants to go for C-section now, it's a risk to the baby and mother to wait.

They can look up the NC insurance commissioner and threaten to call them. That should get action. These people are thugs and I have had to get very, very nasty with the insurance thugs to get action this year.

The situation you describe sounds dangerous.

I found the NC Ins. Comm. hotline:
http://www.ncdoi.com/Smart/

The phone number, toll free, is 855-408-1212. They say they will help file appeals.

After 2 c sections having another is trickier and more risky, doctors are probably waiting for vaginal birth.

Doctors don't like doing c sections unless it is necessary, especially after having 2 previous. A 3rd is harder because of scar tissue and higher risk of complications.
