Can we get Al Grayson to primary Bill Nelson for the U.S. Senate?

This needs to be looked into, after the leadership and running the Florida Democratic Party and all that has happened. He appoints the chair, continuing to ignore the party activists, and continues to twist a few of the voters arms in the party, that are still there.

Remember the last Chair Karen Thurman? She was caught lobbying on the side for Jeb Bush's friends! Demoralized all of us. Had the votes to remove her, and in came Nelson and had a meeting with a few of the elders, makes them feel important you know.

Bill Nelson is getting old, and the Florida dems have always been lukewarm to this DLC'er. Also, he is not an 'astronaut' as is always claimed. He flew on the shuttle, as you or I now could. That does not make us an 'astronaut'. Nor does a military career in flying.

He has done so much damage with our party, and he needs to go. We can do better!

Nelson got in there and made sure she remained, after they had the votes to remove her!

This has to stop, and Florida cries out for our help!

Tant Richards must go!

Can he run for the House and the Senate at the same time legally? States differ on election laws.

Joe Lieberman ran for VP and Senate at the same time. Different state, different animal.

Could Grayson win statewide against Billy Bob Opie Hatfield McCoy? And he would have to give up the house (to Alan West?) I acknowledge that Nelson is not good.

That our candidates should be more like Grayson. Who could be more like Alan Grayson, than Alan Grayson.

Let's see, Nelson was reelected in 2012, so he should be up in 2018... plenty of time to get the logistics worked out.

Depending on whether he runs for President or not.

I'm lukewarm on Nelson, but he adds to the Democratic count in the Senate.

Also, as an aside, your "not an astronaut" thing reminds me of something that Sheldon Cooper might say to Howard Wolowitz. Just sayin'.

At the state level country wide, both parties seem to have an unwritten "It's so and so's turn to run now" list and jumping the list can get someone tossed under the bus.

He has been part of 3 so I predict Charlie will try to win the primary as a Democratic candidate, but if that falls through then he will run as GOP. Of course the go to if neither works would be run as an Independent.

And why not make Rubio the dems target in Florida if we are looking to take out a senator. I get the point they are making about Nelson but why not try to remove a repub powerhouse from the senate leaving Florida with two dem senators.

pick your poison...

I also had a bad (read NO help) experience with a personal constituent issue. His people were useless, as was my Democratic Congresswoman.

The shocker was that Rubio's office was EXTREMELY helpful and even kind.

So yes, it would be nice to have an effective, progressive Senator in Florida.

House Speaker Will Weatherford who has NEVER held a REAL job. Watch how he talks about praying every morn'n... Listen to the ole folk Repubs ... lap it up and ooh and ahh in the background. This kind of childish mindset is what the Dem will be up against.
