Tue Nov 11, 2014, 08:55 PM
Nov 2014

and one wrong guess around 25 (it guessed Dave Gilmour).

Part of the problem is that the questions are all phrased in the present, but you don't know if you should answer for just the current moment, or when they were most famous (Hackett is not a member of a touring group now, but he was; he doesn't wear glasses now, but he used to (I presume he wears contacts these days)). Their expected answers show this problem - they expect 'yes' to "Is your character a member a band of 5 persons?" (for early Genesis including Peter Gabriel he was, but he's not now); but they expect 'no' to "Does your character belong to a foursome?" (after Gabriel left, they were a foursome for the next 2 studio albums).

After the 25th question, it guessed Mary Wollstonecraft.

I was thinking of Eliza Haywood.

It did get a female English writer in the 18th century, though.

Poor sap gave up after seventy-some questions but had him a list nonetheless.

Question 50 yielded Captain Beefheart, so props for that.

1. Marquis de Sade - took a bunch of questions, but got it.
2. Aleister Crowley - took about 10 questions.
3. Charles Manson - could not guess him. The website wrongfully considers him to be a serial killer, and I think that is the reason it couldn't guess him.
4. Ernst Rohm - took about 10 questions.
5. Peter Christopherson - could not guess.

and Chief Wild Eagle from F-Troop.

One thing I enjoyed during the process, is that you know its going to get it right when it asks a specific question
directly related to the character.

Example... when I was thinking of another SoA character (Tigg), it asked if the person was in a motorcycle gang.
That's when I knew it had me beat before it gave the correct answer.
