To Tell the Truth - FLA Committeeman calls for Florida Democratic Party Chair to Resign!

Greetings Allison Tant Richard*,

I heard your interview this morning on NPR regarding the outcome of Florida's midterm elections. It was less than forthright or honest nor did it explain how Democrats could not unseat the most unpopular governor in the country and the history of the state.

http://miami.cbslocal.com/2011/12/06/poll-rick-scott-is-least-popular-governor-in-country/

Please let me help.

To tell the truth the real reason is that the Florida Democratic Party (FDP) "leadership" hand picked, courted and promoted their candidate prior to the primary in blatant violation of our bylaws and democratic ideals. A worse candidate could not be found. Besides the fact he is an elitist, a corporatist, and a player representing special interests over public interests. He is also a Republican turned Independent turned Democrat ... a DINO! Charlie Crist came with so much baggage he couldn't even board a plane! Also the choice virtually assured that no rank and file Republican, whose party believes that he betrayed them, would ever vote for him. If it were my intent to see four more years of Scott, Crist certainly would have been the number one choice.

Unfortunately it gets even worse than that as FDP "leadership" not only ignored the best candidate but engaged in obstructionism as Nan Rich had filed to run, while Crist was only a twinkle in their eye. Nan Rich was not permitted to address the Florida Democratic Party's Jefferson-Jackson (presently called Leadership Blue) Dinner (make sure you check out the comments at the end of this link) where the FDP was trying to convince Crist to announce his intention to seek the governorship as a Democrat.

http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/2013-06-02/news/fl-democratic-party-nan-rich-20130529_1_nan-rich-state-democratic-party-florida-senate

http://miamiherald.typepad.com/nakedpolitics/2014/04/bill-clinton-to-speak-at-florida-dems-jun28-jefferson-jackson-dinner.html

Nan Rich was the winning ticket, a woman with an impeccable record of championing public interests over special interests, no skeletons, and no baggage. All of those Republicans that hated Scott would have voted for her, but not Crist! The FDP decided otherwise completely ignoring, even obstructing, Nan Rich's candidacy before the primary, again a direct, blatant, and egregious violation of state bylaws and our democratic ideals.

Nan Rich was clearly the best choice both for the people of Florida and the defeat of Scott. She would have been easy to promote. If the FDP had spent the same time, effort and money to promote Nan Rich as they did Crist they would have had a candidate to bring out women, the young, the disenfranchised, and the independent voters of this state. Instead they not only ignored her, along with the lame stream media, but they obstructed her candidacy at every opportunity, even going so far as to hold rallies for Crist throughout the state prior to the primary, again a blatant and egregious violation of our bylaws and democratic ideals!

So, Allison Tant Richard as you have personally admitted, as Florida's Democratic Party Chair, that you are responsible for four more years of Scott, please do us all a big favor and immediately tender your resignation, so that you can go back to South Florida to purge more African Americans from the voter rolls.

lead attorney for Dubya Bush in the stolen 2000 election, when our country suffered a Judicial Coup d' etat under an improper ruling of SCOTUS which quashed the Florida Supreme Court's decision that all of Floridian's votes must be counted under Florida law, the result being that tens of thousands of votes cast went uncounted, and our state's electoral votes were wrongly awarded to Dubya. Later a consortium of media outlets forced and financed an actual recount implicitly following the requirements under Florida law conducted by our capital county's Supervisor of Elections, Ion Sancho, which determined [b]Al Gore won the election!

Unfortunately this wasn't the last election to be stolen...

No one in the state knew who the hell she was. By the time her campaign and the FDC got around telling the state, Scott's campaign would have told us ahead of time using nothing but lies. Maybe a certain Miami mayor should have run, that is the FDC's mistake for not attracting him or Nelson (yes he is a Dino). Heck one more senate seat wouldn't have mattered. Maybe we could have gotten Alan West.

When he engineered the election of the terminally incompetent Karen Thurman as the last Chair, he told her that her ONLY job was to make sure he was re-elected. And the only other candidates who got her attention in the state were crony insiders and her loser son.

Thurman was a partner in a lobbying firm with a Republican politician.

Tant is even worse. Her track record shows her undermining Gore in 2000. Even more than fantasy scapegoat Ralph Nader.

It's "leaders" like this, and the self interested incompetents that they appoint to the Vice-Chair positions, that made me leave the FDP. One former congressional candidate confronted Tant with the facts at a Party meet and greet meeting and barely got out without being tarred and feathered.

9. My Response To Mr Colson's Email To Tant-Richard et al...

Dear Mrs. Tant-Richard,

Mr. Colson has provided plenty of material evidence which clearly demonstrates a continuation of the disturbing trend of what I have long characterized as the purposeful ineptitude of the Florida Democratic Party. Executed to perfection at every level of leadership over the years, the performance of the FDP across the state sadly again remains true to form. The Chair of the Party sets the agenda much like a coach in football or any other sport for that matter. As we all know you can't fire the whole team nor should we, when it is the flawed leadership as evidenced by actions taken by that leader with results thereby accruing. In many ways, your actions have not varied from those of your predecessors. Therein lies the problem...

Typical actions such as getting behind candidates before a primary has taken place are standard op with the Party with cues are taken from the Chair by county DEC actors et al. Same nonsense with Hillary in the Presidential Primary in 2008!

You complain about a dearth of candidates. Why should anyone run for any seat when the Party always seems to find a candidate to oppose another Democrat, but never has one to compete for a Republican held office that is unopposed. In my case, Rick Penberthy who I defeated twice in the 2006-08 primary. Party insiders Gerald Goen and his wife Janet manipulated Walgreens Photo Development Specialist Jonathan Michael Snow on to the ballot to protect Republican Gus Bilirakis in 2012 from having to face a progressive NPA candidate... Where was Jonathan Michael Snow in '14? Same nonsense every election. Hell 9 candidates running for Prez in 2008 in order to protect Obama and Hillary from Edwards? It's really quite transparent what goes on.
The Democratic Party is there to protect those who "Play Ball." Totally Corporate such that the average voter has a rough time discerning one party's candidate from the other. Party "Leadership" populated by weasels...

Classic... Debbie Wasserman-Schultz endorsing Republican Incumbent Ginny Brown-Waite not once but TWICE in 2006 http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/HL0707/S00219.htm Debbie needs to be removed from her position as DNC Chair forthwith. Otherwise WHERE does the buck stop?

Where is the integrity? Anything for a BUCK. Democrats are for sale CHEAP! FDP Chairs ALL cut from the same cloth? Why of course! FDP Chair Karen Thurman Taking Money $3,500/Month From Former Republican Party of Florida Chair Al Cardenas

Charlie Crist in 2007? Karen Thurman Chair FDP, "Charlie Crist IS A DEMOCRAT!"...in 2007! Really?
(Around the 3 minute mark)

Clay Colson mentions the vote rigging by a variety of means in Florida that is now part of history, yet the FDP never takes a posture to ensure that such shenanigans are prevented from recurring. There is no passion. There are no principles. The FDP is bankrupt... in more ways than one. You constantly request money from the people to fund the purposeful ineptitude, engineered to ensure continuation of the status quo as in Republican political dominance. What else should one expect from a wholly owned subsidiary of the Republican Party of Florida? "Well I'm No Washington General"

So Allison...Madame Chair, when Mr. Colson, myself and others call for your resignation with all the courtesy that this Greek tragedy deserves, we could not be more sincere in doing so. There are very real costs resulting from such a performance. Those costs other than the little embarrassment that you might experience will be borne by the people of Florida... The Children... The Elderly... The Infirm... The Uninsured and The Unemployed...

The people of Florida deserve a legitimate party of opposition. The Florida Democratic Party as it is currently constituted and perhaps has been for at least the past 20 years does not meet that bar. Considering all the baggage that you brought to the table when you were "appointed" to the position of FDP Chair by the usual suspect U.S. Senator Bill Nelson; You have been accorded more than ample latitude to act in a manner that would result in a considerably better showing than was the case last week. You deserve no further opportunity. Join the nearly 14,000 people who have seen THIS!
&feature=youtu.be Floridians do not deserve someone who played an active role in facilitating George W. Bush gaining the White House, notwithstanding the role of your husband Barry as well. ... as Chair of the Florida Democratic Party.

Allison, Your very closely guarded "Secret" is now very public as it should be. The rot in the Democratic Party is from within. The same 'ol song is not gonna play this time. Please resign Allison.

John Russell, 2006-08 Democratic Nominee U.S. House, District 5 Florida. 2012 No Party Affiliation Candidate, U.S. House District 12, Florida

The party is the source from which all the ble$$ings flow. Better rule in the rubble than watch a successful party go on without you and your friends in control.

the country. We do not want the "third way" - we want progressive candidates. There is no choice at all when we are given two varieties of republicans (republicans crazy and republicans light as I like to call them).

We can try to take this party back to the FDR level and/or we can just wait for things to crash down enough that revolution is all that is left. We are already on our way as this country spins towards a corporate-owned fascism.
