They lose advertising revenue, they go broke.

The problem is too many conservatives (millions) get their only information from Fox.
Outright lying pays off on cable TV. When EVERY SINGLE fox "news person" uses the same exact talking point daily, you get your message across. (Obama is Muslim! and he hates Amurikans) There are no requirements to tell the truth or allow an opposing view to rebut their crazy, racist homophobic assertions on cable news. An information vacuum serves them very well..

it has gone on for years now and there is AMPLE PROOF of out right lieing to te American public.
Can we start a fund maybe to hire a legal team to go after fox and expose them?
Ideas are appreciated.

Most thinking people already know what they're about, besides, Fox is on cable, no broadcasting license to go after, FCC has no authority over cable.

Exposing the lies is the only real action that can be taken. Media Matters does an excellent job of this.

as a whole and it is largely unwatched by the American public. FoxNews does draw more than the other cable 'news' outlets, but that's not saying much of anything.
If you combine the entire viewership of FoxNews, CNN and MSNBC in an average weeknight news hour, you get a number between 3 and 4 million. At that same time, the lowest rated broadcast network news hour is pulling about 5.5 million and the other two about another 16 or 17 million between them. So the combined big three networks have over 20 million nightly news viewers. FoxNews stand alone is about 2 million usually. Can hit three. Rarely.
You know who told you FoxNews is the main source for America's news? FoxNews.

Who else do you want to shut down because you don't like them?

Faux Noose is rehensible but they do have a 1st Amendment right and I defend that right, no matter how repungent it is.

besides, FCC has no authority over cable, the best thing is to go after their sponsers, but given the popularity among conservative, tea partiers, RW'ers, there's zero chance of getting the sponsers to drop Faux.

This, despite research that shows watchers of Fox News are genuinely less informed about factual matters than those who watch (or listen to) news from other sources. In short, lying is protected.

The only thing to hope for would be that someone could sue Fox and prove that their "news" shows did genuine harm. But I can hardly imagine such a suit being successful. For one thing, they can afford all the lawyers in the world, and in this country there is almost never any hurry to decide anything in court, which is why so many things drag on for years, and years.

Fox Lies, Incites and recruits much like ISIS, through vicious and relentless propaganda working at eating into unstable minds. And being the primary media organ of one of two parties in the largest economy and military in the world is awesome power for a handful of folks to wield.
