The word "politician" doesn't quite fit Sanders. I'd say "statesman" instead.
Otherwise, you are, of course, 100% correct. And it's worth noting that even after his many years in the Senate, Sanders has one of the lowest net worths of any senator.
What does that mean? It means that he refuses to take the various "bribes" that so many others take so easily. No huge speaking fees for Sanders. He cannot be bought.
Sanders has walked the walk for many years. On the other hand, Warren has yet to really prove herself. Time will tell there.
