Pressure Nixon to Appoint a Special Prosectuter.

As I understand it, Gov. Nixon can appoint a special prosecutor and we should pressure him to do so.

The concept of "Double Jeopardy" does not apply here. Wilson did not go before a jury of his peers. He was simply not indicted. That does not mean a subsequent prosecutor cannot bring charges.

2. Someone posted earlier that he couldn't do it unilaterally

He would need a local D.A. to recluse and request it.

I think there was also standalone OP saying the same.

3. Would that bring the AG into it?

If so, there's no way. I think part of the motivation for Nixon's despicable behavior has been to protect the AG politically. Chris Koster (democrat since 2007) is the heir apparent 2016 Democratic candidate for governor.

4. Primary the asshat

Keep telling him that will be the outcome. I don't know Misery politics thankfully. But, up here he would just be out.

6. If I were in Ferguson, I'd be demonstrating in front of McCulloch's house 24/7

rather than breaking store windows and setting things on fire. Thousands of people camping out in the street in front of his house might get his attention. Shame him into agreeing to a special prosecutor anywhere he goes in the United States.

Just read parts of Wilson's grand jury testimony, as pointed out by the Washington Post. Of course Wilson's story was consistent. He was being fed the answers contained within the prosecutor's questions, something called "leading the witness", making his testimony choreographed and scripted with a specific result in mind.

“So you got out of the car, you are running, you are telling to stop; is that right?

“Correct,’’ Wilson responds.

“And he’s not listening?’’ the prosecutor asks.

“No,’’ Wilson says.

At another point, a prosecutor tells Wilson that she doesn’t want to “put words in your mouth” even while asking that, as Brown was allegedly striking the officer in the face as he sat in his police car, “it was your opinion that you needed to pull out your weapon?’’

“I felt another one of those punches in my face could knock me out or worse,’’ Wilson testified. “I mean, it was, he’s obviously bigger than I was and stronger and I’ve already taken two to the face and . . . the third one could be fatal if it hit me right.’’

7. That might work

It is quite obvious that the prosecutor in this case wanted to see NO indictment.

If he had wanted an indictment by the grand jury, there would heave been an indictment.

It is the job of a prosecutor to prosecute. That was NOT done in this case. What happened here was a defense of the police officer.

So what we have here is a subversion of the judicial system and no fair trial for the accused.
