President Obama had one comment when he saw Chuck Todds Obama bashing book in a bookstore. With one word, Obama summed up Todd perfectly.
According to the New York Post (take it with a huge grain of salt),
Oh, Chuck Todd! Obama exclaimed. Lets see what Chuck has to say here!
How is he writing a book already? asked his 16-year-old daughter, Malia. Sad.
Hes just sad, the president joked in response.

The idea that Todd wrote a book is highly debatable. I am working on a review of Todds Obama bashing book, and it can be summed up as less of an exploration of the Obama presidency, and more of a dear diary entry from a member of Beltway press centered on why Obama is big meanie who wont kiss the rings of the D.C. media elite. There is very little in Todds book that hasnt been voiced by President Obamas critics on the right a million times before. Chuck Todd is sad. He wasnt even the first choice to replace David Gregory as moderator of Meet The Press. Chuck Todd was NBCs safety date, which the network turned to after the people that they really wanted turned them down. Meet The Press is continuing to flounder, because Todd is David Gregory with a love of politics. Notice that I used the terms politics, not policy or journalism.
- Faced with a changing landscape that is making them irrelevant, the Beltway press has taken out their rage on Obama. Chuck Todd is sad, and I would also add pathetic. He is quickly becoming a dinosaur facing extinction, because the way political leaders interact with their constituents is changing and no amount of sad whining can bring back the status that is evaporating for the mainstream press.

(23,946 posts)comment on himself..the NY Post is propagandizing something something that may or may not have happened...the comment, if said, was about himself on the cover, not The Toad...but believe what you like, all the news is just for entertainment anyways.
So, yeah, take it with a grain of salt because the grain was pulled out of Murdoch's salty ass.

Malia: How is he already writing a book?
President: ...Looking lonely.
Malia: Right. Looks saaaaad.
President: Looking... looking resignated. Oh my. He's so sad.
Man off-screen: (laughs) It's true.
Malia: It's true. Looks like a sad photo.
President: Yes. Well...
Clerk: They tried to find the saddest photo they could.
President: I know.

So much is lost from the spoken voice to the so written.

(24,324 posts)But didn't she comment on Chuck writing a book "already"?
I got tired of waiting for the video to load.
You are right about the written word, that's for sure.

(297,196 posts)Well, at least I got part of it right.
Whew...
I still get the impression that Obama and Malia were sharing a secret moment communicating in code with each other referring to Chuck Todd's book and NOT about Obama's pic. Its my opinion as I read their exchange demeanor.

(32,723 posts)We've known this since Ann Coulter got busted. Someone grilled her over a specific part of one of "her" books and she had a deer in the headlights look. I believe it was a defense of McCarthy and shortly after that as everyone was saying she didn't write the book she did a lame PR move (covered her ass) by dashing out to pose over McCarthy's grave.
