This little dog was rescued earlier this year from the side of the road in Los Angeles, California. As youll see, little Charlie was in sad shape. His fur was matted and knotted with burrs, which were not only painful for Charlie but also rendered him an unsightly mess.
Now, any young man would want to look as sharp as possible. But for dogs like Charlie, maintaining a neat, appealing appearance is especially important. Why? Because when Charlie was rescued, he was sent to a high-kill shelter, where most dogs dont last more than a week unless someone adopts them.
High kill shelters euthanize more than 50 percent of the animals in their custody.
As youll see in this video, posted by The Pet Collective, a groomer from Hollywood Grooming came to the rescue of this homeless dog and in two days after the makeover, Charlie had a home.

Is it trying to pass him off as a puppy? The hair will grow back.
Edited to say, yes it was great for the groomer, I just thought even as a dirty dog he was still cute, the passing him off as another dog was my weird sense of humor because he looked so different. no insult was meant to the groomer or the dog.

Let's hope there was full disclosure to the owners, that he's a long haired doggy who isn't going to get much bigger, if any.

(5,946 posts)she was apparently never washed, she had 3 bathes immediately upon entry to my house and still stunk a little, My car, after the 3 hour drive, had to be aired out for weeks before I could drive with shut windows - just from her sitting in it. I guess I get sucked in by the cute faces and miss the rest. But not everyone is quite as dog nuts as me.
As you can see, she is quite beautiful and needs only one bath a year, she mostly smells like peanut butter, not that she gets it is more than once a year or so. And she washes herself like a cat.

(108,978 posts)and they are very popular because they don't shed much.
Owners are supposed to keep them groomed, however, because otherwise the hair can get matted -- as his did.

But not being an experienced in dog grooming, the end result speaks for itself.

(1,581 posts)my Tess. Tess looked just like the first picture when we found her at the SPCA and cleaned up to look like the last picture. She is Cocker Spanial and Jack Russel Terrier we think. If you look at the cute little turned out feet, long body and short legs, even the ears. He is about as close as you can get to my little girl.
