Elizabeth Lauten GOP Staffer Who Said Obama Daughters Lack 'Class' TO RESIGN

BUH-BYE.......................

The Republican congressional aide who wrote a widely-disseminated Facebook post criticizing President Barack Obama's daughters says that she is resigning today.

Elizabeth Lauten, the communications director for Tennessee Rep. Steven Fincher, told NBC News by phone Monday that her resignation is already "in the works."

In a post that went viral over the weekend, Lauten wrote that Sasha and Malia Obama should have shown "a little class" during the annual Thanksgiving ceremony to pardon two turkeys at the White House.

"Rise to the occasion," she wrote. "Act like being in the White House matters to you. Dress like you deserve respect, not a spot at a bar."

Lauten later deleted that post and penned an apology on Facebook, writing that she now sees "more clearly just how hurtful my words were."

She's wearing what all the other kids are wearing. Malia is 16 and already has her mother's regal posture.

Lauten has forgotten the impact of social media. Read in another post that the thing she really regretted was that her nasty remarks about the president were lost in the reaction to her remarks re the daughters. sigh. The repubs will use her elsewhere.

Tuxedos and evening gowns? I assume that like a lot of events at the White House with a President's busy schedule, ceremonies don't occur exactly on time and the media gets a heads up only a few minutes before they occur. The daughters were probably wearing what they'd been wearing all morning which was casual attire. They're teens after all and I don't think they're wearing anything very different than what a lot of teens wear. I remember what teen girls would wear to school in the 1960s (I'm an old man now) and that dresses called "shifts" at the time were amazingly short. Having constantly been in the public eye under media scrutiny during most of their lives, these girls deserve to be able to dress like typical teens their age and just be themselves.
