Elizabeth Warren BLASTS Wall Street SWEETHEART DEAL In Spending Bill

THIS IS A MUST WATCH!!

Republicans planning another future looting................

Sen. Elizabeth Warren is not happy about the plan to weaken regulation of big banks that Republicans managed to insert in the spending bill. She's so not happy, in fact, that she's calling on Democrats to oppose the overall bill unless that provision is removed:

“Who does Congress work for?” Warren said in a speech on the Senate floor Wednesday afternoon. “Does it work for the millionaires, the billionaires, the giant companies with their armies of lobbyists and lawyers, or does it work for all the people?” [...]

“Now, the House of Representatives is about to show us the worst of government for the rich and powerful,” she continued. “The House is about to vote on a budget deal, a deal negotiated behind closed doors that slips in a provision that would let derivatives traders on Wall Street gamble with taxpayer money and get bailed out by the government when their risky bets threaten to blow up our financial system.”

http://www.politico.com/story/2014/12/elizabeth-warren-budget-bill-opposition-113470.html

We've seen that one before, and it led to a giant economic crash. You might remember it. Shoot, you might still be unemployed after losing your job as a result of it. Congressional Democrats are right to want to pass a bill to keep the government open. But that doesn't mean Republicans should be able to get any old terrible thing they ask for and set our economy up for further domination by Wall Street.

62. Then how DID we end up with Obama?
Thu Dec 11, 2014, 01:56 PM
Dec 2014

And go back and watch some of Obama's '07 serenades. Tell me just how strictly his promises matched his deeds. COULDN'T find ANY reasons to prosecute on Wall St.??? Couldn't seem to find comfortable enough shoes to use in Wisconsin??? Seems to have had SERIOUS amnesia about the merits of single-payer health care. His efforts to bring those promises to reality were pitifully half-farted. OH! and we're STILL in Iraq and Afghanistan!
I say it was a contest of liars - one liar out-lying the other. John Edwards paid more homage to the impoverished than the other two combined. Of course, he was a liar too. Hillary will carry on in the Obama tradition with maybe a TADD less overturisms to try and woo the corporational party. Of course, not ever having met a bank she doesn't like, I guarantee she'll have the flexibility of a sheet of rubber.
Hillary in the White House - we KNOW who's going to be the unacknowledged VP and chief of staff. The TPP will only have to get close to the Oval Office to wear her signature - after which, any other "good deeds" will be basically useless.

Elizabeth and Sanders are the only two true breaths of fresh air as far as possible White House contenders.

Even people who strongly favor a particular political party should not be required to vote for every candidate for office that the party selects in order to be legitimate supporters of the party.

That simply yields control of the party to the big power brokers. They steer the selection of candidates and the rank and file suckers take what they're given. It leads to carefully calculated 'centrism' in our political candidates.

Frankly, I've already decided that, if Clinton is the Democratic candidate for the Presidency in 2016, I won't vote for her. It would be the first time in my life that I did not vote for the Democratic candidate for the office (and I sure as hell won't vote Republican). I don't like political dynasties and I think that most of her public behavior for many, many years has been carefully managed so as to avoid controversy and make all the right friends. Less of a human being than a political machine. And her (carefully) declared views on foreign and economic policy bring her much closer to the Republican than the Democratic party. At least the Democratic party I have voted for all of my life.

The fact that I and many others have made a decision like this should be considered very carefully by people like you who will vote for whomever the Democratic party selects. It would be wise to accept and understand that this will be a factor in a general election, and incorporate this into your decision-making process, rather than berating people for making their own, perfectly valid, decisions.

In a Democracy...you don't always get what you want.....United we stand...Divided we fall.

you write in a mocking tone: "its not about THEM....its about US!!!!"

Yes yes yes...It actually IS about US! It should NOT be about THEM, the politician that is supposed to only be our voice, our public servant.

Traditional Democrats just want a candidate that fights a little harder for Democratic values. And I'm sorry to say it, but I think Hillary will have an ever rougher ride with the Democratic base if she chooses to continue the party's march to the Right.

I think a lot of Democrat voters have held their noses last election to get Obama a second term. I think the straw pile is heaping on the top of the camel to the point where many of them are reaching their limit of how far Right they will accept a Democratic leader to bend. If Hillary, after those many quotes about issues you posted, turns out to be just like Obama, and 180's on her implied promises, and continues the incestuous relationship with the Wall Street oligarchs to the detriment of average Americans, she will get even more backlash on DU and everywhere Democrats commune. More so than Obama, who stepped into a huge mess that could be blamed on the previous administration (for good reason) and had some buffer and a honeymoon period as the nation (at least the moderates and libs) and world were just sighing in relief of the previous regime being defeated.

So if Hillary thinks she can grab a fork and shovel another heap of straw on the camel...under orders from the .1%....I think she doesn't have a clue the suppressed frustration of the Democratic base after enduring two terms of a. If that happens, get ready...that camel is coming down.

After that they should move to bust up the media and banking oligopolies. Obviously it would take a lot of support from us to not only get them elected, but to keep up the pressure on the other politicians to get these campaign reforms and bust up the two biggest problems with our Democracy,

The elite parasites need to be removed, through the guillotine if necessary. I'm getting so sick of the rigged game and the fact the greed personified through lobbyists never ebbs but just increases and wants to grab as much as it can, daring us to do something permanent about it. Are they any less a threat to this country's stability and economic survival than Al Qaeda?
