No Fracking in NYS !!!
NYS Governor Andrew Cuomo will ban fracking, due to the severe health risks associated with it. Below are links to two articles:

1. Wow! Great news, H2O Man. My faith in the man is somewhat redeemed.
While I no longer claim NY state as my home, I've followed this issue for some time and in every state, not just New York.
Our use of natural gas is growing, resistance to regulation is strong and many pols are uncomfortably friendly with things as they are. I wonder if the industry will be willing to clean up their act, disclose the ingredients of their fracking fluids, or otherwise try to be less vile. I suspect that they'll just have to ratchet up exploitation in Colorado and New Mexico. Excellent news, in any event. Best holiday wished to you and yours, NYC_SKP |

2. I'm sure that
the industry and "land-owners" will be filing suits by tomorrow morning. Still, this is an important victory at this level.

7. And you deserve some credit for putting yourself on the line for this issue.
It's very good news for New York and for the country. And these days, good news is a thing of great value. Thanks from way out west, for protecting such an important and beautifully magical place.

....on the usual lie about jobs.
I think people are waking up, though. |

18. This is a good day!
I also had an encouraging phone call tonight, from my editor/lady friend. She's currently getting good results on a case where, for the first time, she's taking the lead.
I'm hoping that, within maybe 4-6 weeks, I'l be able to speak openly about it. I'm mighty proud of the work she is doing. |

19. Yes! It was great to hear this news. Good on Zucker for taking a stand....
"Winding toward the conclusion of his presentation, Zucker said, "Would I live in a community with [fracking] based on the facts that I have now? Would I let my child play in a school field nearby? After looking at the plethora of reports behind me ... my answer is no."
He yielded to Cuomo, who thanked him for his "powerful" remarks." http://www.capitalnewyork.com/article/albany/2014/12/8558732/cuomo-concludes-fracking-too-risky ![]() I tend to believe we will see the Hard science of the repercussions of fracking that is, and has been, occurring in states less fortunate in the not so distant future. |
