Are Sony hacks acts of war?

I realize Sony is a Japanese corporation but the attack seem to be directed at the US Sony HQ. Aren't these cyberattacks by North Korea not only terrorism (which they certainly are) but also acts of war against the US? If you believe so what should be done?

which would make it a crime of property rather than an act of war against the government and people of the United States.

So that would be a big no.

If proof should be found, Sony Corporations should take the Korean government to court and confiscate their assets, such as ships at sea and Kim's toys.

We would have to declare war on some of our allies as well as our enemies.

McCains push for Billions for the militaries cyber programs neatly coincides with these events.

John McCain is 78 years old. But that doesn’t mean cyberspace escapes him.

The Arizona Republican and incoming Senate Armed Services Committee chairman says in all his years in Washington — 31 total — the cyber issue holds a special distinction. McCain told a forum here Wednesday that of all the meetings he has attended on a long list of issues, none has had less action happen afterwards than on threats emanating from cyberspace.

Interesting how powerless the FBI is as well in the face of these attacks. More likely the NSA trying to rehab their embarrassing image.

WASHINGTON - U.S. authorities have determined that North Korea is behind the recent cyber attack on Sony Pictures, a federal law enforcement official said Wednesday.

The official, who is not authorized to comment publicly, said a formal announcement of attribution by the U.S. government could come as soon as Thursday.m

Good link. This is a curious development. I imagine the NSA has the lines in and out of NK well covered.

You might end up accusing the US government of terrorism and waging a whole lot of wars if you hold that standard.

Imagine if a foreign country cyber attacked our nuclear facilities instead. We've been caught hacking with the Snowden releases.

We have no room to complain. This is the world we created.
