This Just Pisses Me Off: GOP lawmaker proposes Obamacare replacement: Rely on Jesus for health care

The former Navy chaplain was commenting on a Fox News poll that showed 58 percent of respondents wanted to repeal Obamacare, reported Right Wing Watch.

“We ought to look to the Lord for our health care,” Klingenschmitt said during his PIJN News program.

“He said, ‘If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you,’” he continued, quoting Exodus 15.

“Isn’t that inspiring? I personally prefer to look to almighty God as my healer and not to the government as a substitute god or substitute healer,” Klingenschmitt added, before praying. “Father in Heaven, we turn away from the idolatry that so many have in their hearts, that they think government is a better healer than Jesus. But, Jesus, we know you are the healer.”

I don't know a single "homeopathic vegetarian atheist," so you'll have to shop elsewhere with that one.

I do know lots of actual atheists, none of which use hokus pokus and ancient mythical characters for health care or preach that others should.

on us". Klingenschmitt is just a very clever, very astute con man - use the name of the Lord to put fear and loathing into people's minds and then use the name of the Lord in every situation so that the morons actually vote this guy into office.

Klingenschmitt is more proof that the GOP no longer is dealing in reality, but twisted tales that stir up the ill-informed and ignorant voters.

that, at the age of three, I got type 1 diabetes? And at 23, when I underwent an experimental pancreas transplant to cure it, what sin did I commit that made God turn the new organ cancerous? And again, less than half a year later, what did I do that angered God so much that he took away more than half of my vision? Did I not pray hard enough ('cause Lord knows I prayed)? Was it because I couldn't work and therefore had no choice other then to depend on the Medicaid system? Was I being too lazy (read bed ridden)? What did I do wrong, oh almighty, all knowing Fox News?

Of course I don't really believe that God did any of those things. And yes, we need health care and science. God isn't going to fix all of our problems for us just because we ask nicely. We have brains and God, if s/he exists, isn't a genie.

“That’s the best way to defeat them, by the way — defeat them with evidence and defeat them with their false premises, and I did that,” she said.

“I took them on, and their agenda, and I went to the heart of whatever it was they wanted to advance, and tried to take it apart through evidence-based arguments, and they don’t like that,” Bachmann said. “When the left argues, they argue from emotionalism.”

I'm sure we're all floored by Klingenschmidtt's unemotional evidence-based rationality.

by the courts?

How many times have we seen cases of a child who is seriously ill because its parents refuse to get professional medical care since it is against their religious beliefs? The hospital or physician petitions the court to protect the child by allowing them to give medical care.

These whackos are part of the reason so many people are walking away from religion. For him to be in government and making decisions affecting the rest of us is scary.

all just depend God for healthcare abolishing hospitals, medical school accreditation, no nothing under the color or cover of the law. See how the nation cottons to that plan.

If it is a matter of faith then insurance and money have nothing to do with it. The Almighty never had a few forms to fill out before the great miracles. Jesus didn't have income guidelines or check your card.

That will sell like hotcakes. In fact, make that position whether they have the audacity to openly do or not and make it stick. Make the argument ever and always about them and their crazy bullshit. If they want to use it, make them own it.

. . .

Klingenschmitt, nicknamed "Dr. Chaps," prevailed in House District 15, a slice of El Paso County so conservative that a Republican candidate would probably have to slap a baby on live TV to lose -- and if the tot was the offspring of a Democrat, that still might not be enough. But even by the area's standards, he's on the fringes.
. . . .

Among the Klingenschmitt salvos shared by the group -- assertions that "Obamacare causes cancer," the Bible "commands people to own guns in order to 'defend themselves against left-wing crazies,'" and the FCC is "allowing demonic spirits to 'molest and visually rape your children.'"
And then there's his virulently homophobic anti-gay rhetoric. Writes RWW: "Gays, he says, have something inhuman and demonic inside of them, which is why he declares that teaching kids about gay marriage is mental rape and advocates that Christians should print anti-gay Bible verses on the backs of gay wedding photos."

Klingenschmitt hasn't turned the other cheek when it comes to Right Wing Watch's attacks. Last year around this time, he sent copyright infringement complaints to YouTube that temporarily resulted in RWW's account being suspended.

After Klingenschmitt won the Republican primary in District 15 earlier this year, GOP party chair Ryan Call found himself in the position of having to address some of these remarks. In August, a Colorado Pols piece quotes Call as stressing that Klingenschmitt "does not speak for the Colorado Republican Party" and espouses views that "do not reflect my personal position or the position of the party" in the wake of this statement about Congressman Jared Polis:
The open persecution of Christians is underway. Democrats like Polis want to bankrupt Christians who refuse to worship and endorse his sodomy. Next he'll join ISIS in beheading Christians, but not just in Syria, right here in America.
