It is -3 degrees in Lafayette, CO right now and the power just went off. I am one of only a few blocks with electricity. Xcel says it could be three to five hours before it is restored. Is anyone else in Colorado experiencing outages?

(16,379 posts)I didn't know about it until everyone started texting me. I've been inviting people over here for the night. My friend's mother is in her eighties and sick and cannot tolerate the cold at all, so I've asked them over. I'm not worried about me. I may end up with a big sleep-over!

I think this will be an early to bed night, electricity or no electricity.

(49,212 posts)People are losing power all over Northern California tonight because of unusually cold temperatures and high winds knocking down trees, but at least in my area gas heat is the norm so I don't think too many people will be suffering, at least if they're indoors. :/

The more I learn about her setup, the more I like it.
