Wow. No love for the police on Facebook.

My feed had half a dozen threads relating to the "work slowdown" in NYC, and the corresponding drastic reduction in the crime rate. Of course...stands to reason that if cops aren't arresting people for jaywalking and littering that the "crime rate" will go down. But also, the city hasn't erupted in flames, there has been no mass chaos, although I am sure city revenues will take a big hit from the lack of frivolous citations handed out. Otherwise life appears to be going on.

What is startling are the comments. Support for the police action against DiBlasio is virtually nil. I've read through hundreds of comments and just about every one of them is along the "F*%k the police" variety. This post is not to take a stand either way, just making an observation. If the NYPD thought they'd get some love from the public for their back-turning and shows of disrespect (how ironic, huh?) they seem to be sorely mistaken.

that at least one local yahoo hick cop up here in sleepyville thinks DiBlasio should be shot. This cop is not from here, so my friend asked me "what did Diblasio do?"

He was shocked after I told him- that any cop around here would say something like that over the whole NY situation.

To the yahoo cop who said that to him: don't fuck it up for yourself. Your force has a reputation of being reasonable. Don't come here to this area and start acting like a goddamned thug.

The NYPD is out of control. If any cop thinks that's just awesome, they do not deserve their badge. Chief Anderson in Nashville has it right. This newbie local cop should take a lesson from him.

RESPECT IS A TWO WAY STREET.
