Hillary Will Be the Democratic Nominee for the Presidency in 2016

(Newb deliberately posting late at night so as to avoid eviscerative flaming. Just for the record. On the off-chance that some Whiteglove hasn't gotten me booted in the interim, I will kick this on the night of Secretary Clinton's acceptance speech at the convention. She has the money, the party establishment, and Bubba behind her. And although I'd love to teleport Sanders directly into the Oval Office, neither he nor Warren has the charisma that propelled Obama to Denver---and then DC---in 2008. Hillary Rodham Clinton will be the next President of the United States, like it or not.)

He gave a great keynote address at the convention. His star continued to rise after that. And at that time everybody knew Hillary was running in 08.

Nobody in the last 6 years has made any attempt to emerge as a leader and potential candidate to challenge Hillary. Everyone knows she's running in 16. It will be Hillary.

And she will win in November.

And that will be a very sad day for liberals. I will do everything I can to help a more progressive candidate win that nomination, because I don't think she has a chance in the general. Right-wingers will turn out in droves, riled up against the eeeeviillll Hillary Clinton (note: sarcasm). Meanwhile, Dems will lose the entire youth vote, because she and Bill haven't helped do a thing for students. She'll get torn apart in the general, and I *guarantee* she will steadily pull to the right while saying some nice sounding lefty stuff, thereby re-alienating the huge numbers of Dems that aren't voting because they're tired of neo-liberal corporate shit.

Hillary Clinton Will Never Be President. Her ship has come in, but has it also sailed? (Yes, it has)
12/3/14

Until recently, the conventional wisdom among Beltway elites was that Hillary Clinton would waltz, or at least walk unassisted, to the Democratic nomination in 2016. Now that narrative has come under attack, amid mounting evidence that Hillary’s most recent quest for power has already failed.

Consider, for example, the embarrassingly sparse crowd at Georgetown University on Wednesday, where Clinton delivered a lecture on “Smart Power: Security Through Inclusive Leadership.”

...This is precisely the demographic Hillary will have to turn out in large numbers to be successful in 2016. Anyone who thinks she can come close to inspiring the same amount of enthusiasm among people as Barack Obama is kidding themselves. In fact, Hillary has been struggling to draw crowds of all ages.

Gov. Deval Patrick (D., Mass.) has said the sense of inevitability surrounding Hillary’s candidacy is “off-putting to voters.” The American people view inevitability as a sense of entitlement, Patrick said on Meet The Press, and prefer candidates who make an affirmative case for themselves. “The American people want–and ought to want–their candidates to sweat for the job, to actually make a case for why they are the right person at the right time,” he said.

Meanwhile, recent polling suggests Hillary’s aura of inevitability is fading. She is only slightly ahead in matchups with potential GOP challengers with much lower name recognition.

...Financial Times columnist Edward Luce recently suggested that Hillary faces a “rickety bridge” to the White House, in part because “Democrats have remarkably little new to say about the future of America’s middle classes.” Hillary’s close ties to Wall Street and big corporate donors, Luce argued, will likely hinder her ability to “ignite the passion” of liberal voters, potentially paving the way for a populist challenger such as Elizabeth Warren....

If she picks a VP like Sarah Palin then she could suffer a loss in the general but with the many great prospects I doubt this would happen. I know many continues to bring up the IVR vote and for a same similar reason on the other side the no votes by Warren and Sanders in the ISIS resolution will hurt them. Rove has his group trying to discourage Hillary from running because he knows the GOP does not have a candidate which can win easily against Hillary. For those who say Hillary is nit liberal enough sure do not know the records if Hillary, Warren and Sanders, Hillary and Warren is rated in the same spot and Sanders claim to Socialist is too far left for me. I am Ready for Hillary.

And, that being the case, until it is forced down my unwilling throat at the '16 Democratic Convention, I don't accept that prediction, and I'll work like hell to make sure it doesn't happen.

If it does, I'll probably choke, regurgitate, and move on.
