To add some perspective

I cannot recall a death toll as low as 4 when the cafe and pizza shop and bus bombings were occurring in Israel on a regular basis. As these people in France seem to have arisen this week, we of the Diaspora have been enduring the tragedies in Israel since 1948, and of course long before that with respect to other horrors perpetrated upon us for the reason "simply" that we are Jews.

1. Most of the recent killings of Israelis is due to the illegal occupation

of the West Bank and the persecution of the Palestinians. It has not been "simply because they are Jews". It is because they are cruel occupiers that treat the Palestinians like sub-humans devoid of rights.

The blowback from that has led, tragically and inexcusably, to the killing of Jews elsewhere simply because they are Jews.

Don't try to conflate the two situations.

there would have been no illegal occupation as you call it if the PanArabists hadn't massed on the borders and lost two wars. The Israelis just got tired of their shit, and went into primitive mode. Too bad for you. I'm not confusing anything. The terrorism in Israel only served to harden their resolve as it appears to be hardening the French. Too bad again for you. You're going to lose this battle and this war. Again: too bad for you.

You are fanatical about your cause. They are fanatical about their cause. End result: long term misery for all parties.

Just don't whine about it when your side takes casualties.

Israel is a colonial state founded by ethnic cleansing (as, in fairness, are many other states, but none in living memory). While using force to destroy it is no longer justifiable, using force to prevent its foundation certainly was.

One thing I do agree with you about, though: your racist colonial ethnocracy is going to win; it's going to continue to expand and the Palestinians are going to continue to suffer. As you say, too bad for them.

Why make a comparison at all? Both things are terrible. It's not a race.

[p]one is the oppressor and the other is a bully, figuring out which is worse is probably more challenging. Maybe an oppressor is a bully or a bully is an oppressor. who knows?

They came with their families separately and met in the U.S. Both acutely remembered the fear of persecution/death from the cossacks. Yes, it has been going on a long, long time.
