I am not sure if that was part of the hacking message, thought it was more info so clicked it and beware.

Is it on anyone who downloaded the je suis charlie app or just notepad? Fuck cyber terrorists.

The background music is particularly offensive!

After installing and running it this is the first message you see.

"Freedom of expression is like the air we breathe, we don't feel it, until people take it away from us.

For this reason, Je suis Charlie, not because I endorse everything they published, but because I cherish the right to speak out freely without risk even when it offends others.
And no, you cannot just take someone's life for whatever he/she expressed.

Hence this "Je suis Charlie" edition.
- #JeSuisCharlie"

I tried downloading from some similar site to cnet, and I got the same thing. I immediately closed npp++, and uninstalled it, but am now paranoid my PC caught something. And to top it all off, it's my first day at a new job (hence installing NPP in the first place). I seem to have latest virus tools installed, and nothing was caught, nothing is suspicious (monitoring network traffic, etc).

It looks like just a dirty trick. But some verification from some one else would give me some peace of mind.

It's from the Notepad++ team on why they named this version Je suis Charlie edition. It only pops up after the first run then you don't see it again. Also if you go to Help and about you will see a new logo for this version.

Interesting they did not mention anything about being hacked but I think that would give the hackers credit.
