I think it's the best description of her I've seen. She is so thoughtful and so detailed.

(10,138 posts)Are you asking if we agree with the quote describing Warren's speeches, or are you asking if we agree with Warren's politics?

(72,631 posts)Many curious reactions to the other thread mentoned in the OP...
I've been told over and over again, that there is NO disunity in the Democratic Party.
I consider that whistling past the graveyard.
YOU... my friend... I love.

(9,126 posts)If she wants to run, I will be one of those pounding the pavement. She has a message and a vision and I think she's sincere. The idea that someone that talented and intelligent should be held back is frankly sexist. As those same people are ardent supporters of a junior Senator who ran in his first term, I'm a little shocked and angry about it. But more than anything, she is the person of the moment who may help the US turn back from its downward slide. If she doesn't run, I look forward to watching her bust some ass. It's her choice to make.

(95,246 posts)I am sick and tired of people not listening to Warren. She knows her strengths and where she can do the most damage to the banks and the GOP. She knows how she can help the middle class and that is from her Senate seat. She will be our next Teddy. Why no one understands that is beyond me. She is so damned focused and she is going to pick and chose every damn fight with a determined vision. It's not surprising that the GOP did not want her as head of the consumer protection agency. They are appalled that she became our senior senator. They fear her and want her out of there.
she knows where she performs best and she's there. I also agree that her placement in Ted 's former seat is not lost on her for a moment. And furthermore, she is also a teacher, I can see her using her skills from that profession in rallying the rest of her party. In that capacity, I am glad she's there and totally on top of the game that she knows is rigged until someone like her encourages agreement for actual change for the middle class... a change for the better. That's her stated mission and I am convinced she's not changing course on that.

(95,246 posts)I met her at a small gathering. Damn she is so focused. I love that woman and she will do MA and the country proud from her seat as Senior Senator from Massachusetts, yes Teddies old seat.
She is going to rock us.

(95,246 posts)Yes it is the truth. It bothers me so many want her off the job that we in Massachusetts fought so hard for her to get. Scott Brown fought an ugly campaign against her. There was a lot of money in there for her to lose the election.
She won and the GOP hates her guts and do indeed fear her.
I met her Peggy. She is awesome and so wants to be the great Senator she will become. She has Teddies seat, he is smiling down on her as we speak.

(155,921 posts)And I'm thrilled the GOP hates and fears her. That makes her effective!

[i]Warrens brand of populism is ascendant in the Democratic Party: She is articulating a coherent, interlocking set of ideas focused on the economic prospects of the middle class, and a broader critique that explains how and why the economy got to this point, with more passion and specificity than anyone else.
Explain this to me and maybe I will vote in your poll.

(12,471 posts)It is my thought that Hillary is more of a corporatist than Warren, so to say we need Hillary to balance the already unbalanced system which favors corporations, says to me that one might want more corporate control, when it is quite apparent that we need less.

(2,741 posts)to agree with the truth. Progressives now need to start finding real candidates to run against the corporate Dems and put them where they belong...out of government on local, state, and national levels.

(18,998 posts)But kicking in the door to the Third Way Party will not be easy...many tricks are up their sleeve, not just the inevitability of Hillary, and the she-is-not-running.

ALL very good at politicking.

Her understanding of and policies to deal with foreign policy issues will need to be clarified if she is to run for the presidential nomination.

(34,213 posts)I see pretty much the same number of people now who were excited about her two years ago. They talk about her more, but I'm not sure the Warren movement is growing.
She is consistent and I like what she says because of her discussion of the economy and solutions to problems.

(25,167 posts)Sanders and Warren would be popular if the party gave them more of a national stage. The media showed every second of Ted Cruz's meltdown in Washington, but showed Bernie Sanders for a 30 second clip. So I'm not sure how well known they are outside the politically minded people. For populism to take hold it has to come from Obama, Reid and the party's leaders. If they want to win in 2016 then it should be their message.
