in office, or running for office, of any party.

His not criticizing Hillary does not mean he prefers her, it means that he intends to stay out of the fray. He has many friends who will be running, and his priority is to see that some Dems get elected to finish what he started.

This is my man, this President, and I love him for his tenderness and loyalty to Americans of every stripe, regardless of their party, color, or religion.

Even when I know he doesn't like someone, (I can tell), I love his delicate way of expressing himself so that no one's feelings are hurt. I love this man, and wish his mother were to be cloned to raise more like him.

To be fair, Rahm later apologized for that remark. He apologized to advocates for the developmentally disabled, for comparing those folks to us, so vile are we.

Obama also hired Gibbs, who denounced some Democrats as "professional leftists".

So, this "fans of Democrats" thing seems to have its limits. The demand for party loyalty is a one-way street. Liberals are a free-fire zone, but any criticism of a Democrat as being too conservative is unacceptable.

Fri Jan 23, 2015, 09:26 AM

I was one of those who voted for Todd Akin in the primaries. There were a number of people in Missouri who realized that Claire McCaskill was in trouble in the 2012 election and chose to vote for the weakest candidate in the Republican race. We were still worried about her until he released his gem of an interview that allowed the entire world access to his idiocy.

If Clinton is the party candidate in the GE of course I'll vote for her. I'll also campaign for her and canvas door-to-door, as will my daughter. I've never understood all the hatred on DU against a woman whom holds an excellent chance of being our candidate-and shows leading the polls against every Republican that can be dragged out of the woodwork. After reading the polls you'd have to start digging up Republicans out of their cold graves to find someone who can hold their own against her.

It appears that there are a LOT of "I hate Hillary" OPs being posted lately, and in rapid succession - and by posters with suspiciously LOW post count...and supported by DUers who dislike the Democratic Party. But they know up until she announces she will run, they won't break any ToS rules so they're trying to do as much damage as they can before she does.

I admire the Secretary of State and former Senator of New York, too, and much like you, I don't know who I'll support in the the primaries, but there's ONE thing I keep front and center before me...I want a Democrat to win the White House in 2016 and I want a Democratic Party controlled Senate again. I will vote for whichever Democrat can win the primaries and general.

Maybe this repub congress will do the heavy lifting for us, what with their initial votes to restrict abortion, etc. They can't help themselves, it seems. I hope we get a real choice, a real democrat, not HRC.

Jan 2015

I never really understood that "I will not vote for the lesser of two evils" argument.

Would voting for a candidate that was "right" on some issues; but I disagreed with on others, be me voting for the lesser of two evils? Take Webb for an example, I like his positions regarding the middleclass and a lot more; but detest his stand on race. If he was the Democratic nominee and I voted for him, would I be voting for the lesser of two evils?

I have not seen a single candidate that met every one of my policy position preferences ... so, wouldn't my every vote be voting for the lesser of two evils?

when the corporate bosses make sure that the candidate from each party is a corporate shill who will do as they are commanded, then your vote is meaningless. You may try to find the lessor of two evils, but they are both evil.

Both Republicans and Democrats have stables full of losers. 2014.

the lessor of two evils, but it is often impossible because candidates are chosen by corporations. Obama was the lessor of two evils both times he won. Pit against McCain and Romney, he was the only choice. Fortunately, the GOP failed to "True the Vote," and they did not manage to steal yet another election. Worked twice for them with W. Now, the GOPers are trying to fix the electoral college (an antiquity which should be thrown out, as Georgia did with the County Unit system). Republicans are, and always will be, against fair elections. Choosing how to vote becomes more difficult every election cycle.

As the desperation to keep an electable DEMOCRATIC candidate off the the ballot goes into high gear on DU. of course I and millions of other voters will ignore the blathering and vote for the winner of the democratic primary no matter who they are. I have my family's future to protect...which includes 2 daughters who deserve all the rights of any man. Hillary supports women's rights...that in itself gets my vote.

As is the Warren group, etc. they are positive sites for posting about a persons chosen candidate. If you haven't noticed, 'hate' sites are kind of frowned upon around here. Just saying.....

Naked ambition is unattractive on anyone but perhaps it is what it takes to leave a legacy and forge an empire. She will be a regular dynasty by the time she is done. Way better her, than Jeb or Mitt. Way better. No sarcasm.

Is it inevitable? Maybe it is already preordained?

I live in a very conservative county and HRC is looked at as very favorable here. People here see her as a pro-choice republican.

I'm tired of the Clintons and hope we have a better choice.
