Watch The Moment A Man Finds Out He’s Surrounded By People He Saved From The Holocaust

http://www.buzzfeed.com/alanwhite/watch-the-moment-a-man-finds-out-hes-surrounded-by-people-he#.dm6Yebnvd

In 1938, Winton headed an operation to save Jewish Czechoslovakian children from the Holocaust, according to Wikipedia. He found homes in Britain for nearly 700 children. Many of them would be orphaned by Auschwitz. His scheme was known in Czechoslovakia as Kindertransport. And it all happened after he went to Prague instead of a skiing holiday in the Alps. The British press would later dub him the “British Schindler”.
Winton spent years dealing with the guilt he felt over the children he wasn’t able to save. Opposing Views reports:

In 1988 his wife discovered a scrapbook, lists of names, and journals that described his rescue plan. She convinced him to go public with his story – whereupon he appeared on That’s Life.

And then this happened....

This is so beautiful.

1. Thanks for posting this.

I've read about the beautiful and heroic Mr Winton before, but I've never seen that video. It made me cry, but in a good way.

8. Here's another about Nicky!

About what he has accomplished since that event in the OP.

It is quite amazing, as if what he did in 1939 was not enough. Get ready to tear up, yet again.

And here he is on 60 Minutes.

BTW, he is still alive and kicking at 105 years old. This guy does not sit on his laurels. He still inspires and does good.

Here's his Wiki page: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicholas_Winton

32. Thank you

I think I might stop crying by Tuesday.

There's a documentary out about a husband and wife in America that saved 50 children. They tried to save more but America wouldn't help.

like the incredibly touching last scene in Schindler's List where survivors honor Schindler's grave.

14. This man is such a hero. I am crying but I am also angry. In the third vedeo he says when asked if

he tried to get other countries to take them " Yes, America. But the Americans won't take them." Angry and ashamed.

What a dear old humble gent. I found your OP after I watched a documentary on HBO with footage from the concentration camps during and just after liberation. "Night Will Fall" was the name of it.
